The Hunt for the Power Stones

Chapter 19- BOOM!!!. What was that.

After a decent night's rest next to a fire, then 3 men had an excellent meal thanks to the village mother. They had plenty of energy for the next days, Journey. Jeffrey looked extra cheerful running around chasing squirrels and birds. Malik was so glad he had his trusty dog with him on his quest. Several hours of riding through tough terrain over rivers and steep hills. The men arrived at a high point along the way. " There, that's Mount Cole " said Malik. They stopped halfway there for a rest as the horses were slowing down and were also tired. They had no more food so James set off looking down for prey. Nathaniel went to refill their water holders and Malik tended to the horses with Jeffrey. All of sudden BOOM!!! a loud bang was heard and a flash of yellow light burst into the sky.  

'It looked like it came from over Mount Cole" said Malik to himself. The horses got scared and one of them got loose, Jeffrey chased after it and so did Malik. It was Nathaniel's horse and he was the fastest of the 3, he ended up at the river Nathaniel was at. " Phew, glad the horse is safe" said Nathaniel out of breath, Jeffrey dumped his head into the river to drink as Nathaniel gave Malik his drink. "Thank's Mate" said Malik. "Did you hear that earlier" said Nathaniel, " Yea, who didn't it was loud as hell, that's how your horse got here" said Malik. " It sounded like it came from over the Mountain" said Nathaniel. "We should head back to the other horses, hopefully, James had some luck, I'm famished" said Malik.

They both returned with the runaway horse as did James 2 minutes later. He was holding 3 ducks and firewood. "Nice, good work James, never doubted you for a minute" said Malik. They each skewered a duck over a fire and made sure they all got plenty to eat.
