The Hunt for the Power Stones

Chapter - 35 Bite the knight

"Menlanthos!!!?" said Malik, They were still shocked every time they saw one of Columbus's knights in this condition, He hated the fact that he was forced to kill his knights. "Damn it, just my luck, Servic was counting on me to be the hardest to find" replied Melanthos, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way " demanded Nathaniel while aiming his sword at the frustrated man, Melanthos's left leg was frozen and could not liquefy until he was free from the Ice. "Please, I don't want to die, I didn't even want the stone, I got last pickings, all the other knights got the stone they wanted, I got stuck turning to water " Malik replied with "Then why did you hurt that man by the river " " He was hunting me down, there is a bounty our for me ". " Set by who" replied James. " Who else!, Columbus's advisor, He caught me sneaking around the kingdom. I ain't eating dead rabbits." Malik had began getting impatient and said, " We need the stone ". Melanthos had-had enough of being threatened. He jumped and roundhouse kicked Malik in the face, sending him flying flat on his face. He was so quick he managed to get low and swipe kick Nathaniel and James as the  3 men had cornered Melanthos. The 3 men were on the ground confused at what just happened. Gabriel was behind them completely confused on what to do. Melanthos had broken the ice from the kicks and had ran right passed them, and jumped headfirst into the nearest lake he could find. Jeffrey hadn't been kicked and was enraged that his friends had been hurt, he dashed towards Melanthos and jumped at the same time he jumped. Jeffrey had bitten hard onto his leg and they both splashed hard into the water...

Jeffrey had his sharp canines deep into Melanthos's leg causing it to bleed all over the water. Melanthos was lucky enough to dissolve and get out of the dog's jaws. The 3 men had gotten up and with Gabriel, they all ran towards the water where Jeffrey had attacked their new enemy. Jeffrey was confused and swam back to shore to join the rest of the men. They all noticed the blood trail that was swimming along the water, Nathaniel quickly grabbed the Ice stone once again and ran towards the water. He dipped the stone in the water and the lake began to freeze over at a rapid pace. James, Malik, and Gabriel all ran towards the trail of blood in the water. James pulled out his bow and began shooting at the water to see if he could hit Melanthos. eventually, the ice caught up and they saw Melanthos rise up in the air with water following him up over the ice. He commanded a huge wave of water to stop the ice dead in its tracks. The ice created a long high slope. Melanthos was up in the air and he slid down the ice slope and began firing heavy water pulses at the men that were on the side of him. He was running and sliding across the ice without looking in front of him while constant firing shots at James, Malik and Gabriel. That's when Nathaniel, who was at the start of the lake was watching Melanthos skid right into him. Nathaniel held the ice stone in his hand, he could feel the glove starting to freeze he had to do something, with all his strength he threw the Ice stone directly at Melanthos hitting him dead centre in his chest. He fell hard and slid across the icy lake, his whole body began to freeze. The Ice stone and water stone were not a good mix, he completely froze over from head to toe. Malik and the rest had caught up to see Melanthos laying on the ground completely frozen. Nathaniel grabbed his sword raised it in the air and cut the frozen man's head off. The AquaMarine Lake stone slowly slid out of his mouth and onto the frozen lake. Malik picked up the stone and Nathaniel used his sword to cut the Frozen Sapphire stone out of his chest. 

Nathaniel opened the Box of stones and the 2 men inserted the 2 stones they had and safely closed and locked the box. " Holy Crap, You guys are insane " yelled Gabriel. " We have to do what we have to do man, he had the stone, he almost killed Peter and he is the enemy" replied Malik. Jeffrey was freezing cold and wet, Nathaniel quickly made a fire by the side of the lake for the men to warm up and Jeffrey to dry off. " This is incredible guys, 6 stones down, 4 to go " stated James. Malik patted Jeffrey's head, " Good job boy ". They all laid down on the soft grass and had a bite to eat after gathering some nearby fruit hanging on some trees.
