Chapter 34: Peaceful Shah (The Interlude)
SHAH CITY was one of the peaceful city in the world. Sa bayan na ito, may dalawang komunidad: ito ay ang Black Community at ang White Community. Pero balewala lang ang pangalan ng komunidad nila. Equality is very visible. The two communities both have equal rights to the Shah House—where the Committees were staying.
The city was totally joyful to be lead by a young man in late 20's, Wilhelm Dacua. Sa kanyang murang edad, kaya na niyang mamuno sa isang lugar. He was the one who was appointed by his father to be the next leader of Shah. Until his parents died.
In his term, na-maintain niya ang paraan ng pamamalakad ng kanyang ama noon. Everyone respects him very much. With his rightful laws and mandate, the city maintained its peacefulness.
"Bro, what are you doing?" tanong bigla ng isang matipunong lalaki. He is Herod Dacua, Wilhelm's only brother. And as a brother, they have similar features just like their long nose and long eyelashes.
Nasa isang silid sila. Wilhelm, on the side, ay abala sa kanyang ginagawang pagtingin-tingin sa isang bagay habang ang kapatid niyang si Herod ay prente lang na nakaupo sa couch.
"I am planning to invent something. Something na pwedeng pagkasiyahan ng mamamayan sa bayan for their leisure time." sagot ni Wilhelm.
Herod just nod at his brother's statement. "Okay. But what is that something, by the way?"
Wilhelm took a closer look sa isang bagay na nasa kamay niya. "I and my friends are planning to make a Chess Field for the human chess game." he replied right away.
Herod's face lit up. "Hmm... interesting!" he stood up at pinuntahan ang kanyang nag-iisang kapatid na nakaupo sa gilid ng silid. Umupo siya sa tabi ni Wilhelm. "What's that thing?"
Binigay ni Wilhelm kay Herod ang bagay na hawak niya kanina. "A chip. But that's not just a simple one. That chip can control over 40 programs. Perfect for the chess game that we are planning to make."
"Woah?!" Herod's voice is full of amazement. Wilhelm look at him with a boastful aura—but more of a joke. "Seriously?! I can't wait na magawa n'yo na ang chess field because you know, I love chess. And human chess is damn very nice!"
"Yeah, I know." Wilhelm said at kinuha niya ang chip.
"So how will that works?" excited na tanong ni Herod. Herod is just 2 years younger than his brother Wilhelm and they have the same body built.
Tok! Tok! Tok!
Three knocks on the door interfere them kaya nahinto sila sa pag-uusap.
"Come in." said Wilhelm casually.
Bumukas ang pinto at pumasok ang isang lalaking nakasuot ng sombrero.
He bowed down before he spoke. "Master Wilhelm—"
"Drop the Master... just Sir." Wilhelm corrected him and the man just nod and clear his throat.
"Sir Wilhelm, the committees are asking for a meeting. It is in connection to the viral news about the poisonous gas created by the factories of the Sentro." the man spoke.
