Chapter 28: Close To End (Wrong Move)
🏁THIRD PERSON🏁
PATULOY NA nilalaban ni Lori ang kanyang takot at pangangamba. Akala niya, magawa na niyang tapusin ang laro. Three squares away nalang sana siya sa King ng Blacks kaso hindi sumagi sa isipan niya na katapat pala sa pwesto niya si Lovely, ang kapwa niya Queen.
Sobrang sakit ng tagiliran niya dahil sa saksak na ibinigay ni Lovely sa kanya kanina. She decided to stop the blood from flowing by covering it using the portion of her shirt. Fortunately, hinayaan naman siya ni Lovely na gawin iyon. Sa anong dahilan kaya? Probably, she wanted to be challenged. Gusto niyang magtagumpay na lumalaban ang kanyang kalaban.
Lovely continue to show her mischievous smirk. She can feel her victory. Sa totoo lang, she's afraid that she can kill too much. Hindi niya rin gustong pumatay at manakit. But desperate times calls for desperate solution. She needs to fight. At kanina, she needed to attack Lori in order for the latter to not reach Joaquin, their King.
Napatingin siya sa gawi ni Jobella. In her mind, if she successfully killed Lori, she's automatically cannot move and probably, Jobella will immediately attack her. When Jobella looked at her, a weird smirk escaped from her lips and her gaze went intense. Sa isip niya, Jobella cannot kill her as what she always observed. She find Jobella as a cry lady.
Pagkaaran ng ilang sandali, she shifted her gaze to Lori who is now standing firmly. Namutla na ang mga balat nito dahil sa maraming dugo na lumabas kanina but her strong fighting spirit oozes.
Lovely swayed her Katana ready to attack.
Pero ang hindi niya alam, may nag-aabang pala sa pag-atake niya. Isang babaeng kanina pa humahanap ng tyempo. Kanina pa siya gigil na gigil na umataki dahil hindi niya gusto ang nangyari. Hindi niya gustong mawala si Lori.
She's two squares away from Lori—to the latter's left side. Holding her Musketeer sword, she readied herself for she knew that any moment from now, aataki na si Lovely kay Lori.
No other person who is holding a Musketeer sword. It's the Knight, Regliah.
Katulad kay Jobella kanina, she wanted to save Lori. She wanted to fulfill her role. She is a Knight that should protect and save her fellows. Wala nang ibang natitirang Knight kung hindi siya na lamang.
She waited for Lovely to jump dahil 'yan lang ang tangi n'yang pag-asang mailigtas si Lori. And when Lovely did, agad rin siyang tumalon para mag-L movement.
Shing!
Naging mabilis ang pangyayari. Kumalat bigla ang dugo sa sahig kung nasaan si Lori. Lori's and Jobella's eyes widen in shocked. Nanuyo bigla ang kanilang mga lalamunan. But only one person who has a different reaction. Her victorious smirk escaped matapos niyang mapagtanto kung ano ang nangyari. Kung ano ang kanyang nagawa.
She slashed its neck using her sword and its head rolled on the ground. At ilang saglit, bumagsak rin ang katawan nito. And because it's a wrong move, its body repel at tumalsik iyon pabalik sa pwesto nito kanina. The same reaction that happened to Ms. Allysa noong nagte-training pa sila. Once you landed to a square that is not part of your movement, you will surely repel.
But the difference is that, the repelled body is... lifeless.
And you know who it was?
"Regliah!!!" Jobella shouted.
Tumalsik ang katawan ni Regliah dahil hindi umaayon sa plano niya ang nangyari. Her plan is to land to the square next to Lori's habang hahagipin niya ng saksak si Lovely. But Lovely is attentive enough to notice her move.
