THIRTEENTH DAY. We were already staying here for 13 days now. The game is fast approaching and I can feel the gloomy feeling.
"Jobigirl, tell us the truth."
We are now in our dorm, sitting on the couch. It is our break time. Earlier, the boys went here but they did not take so long because there is also a rule that boys and girls should not stay in one dorm for safety. Eh?
I diverted my gaze to Lori. Her voice is so serious. "About what?" I responded to her. She was just sitting opposite me.
"What's with you and Josh?" she asked with a brow raised.
Other girls were also looking at me. They all seemed as curious as Lori.
"Yeah, what's really up with the two of you?" Mami V asked next with a big smile.
I don't know what to feel. For me, it is just a simple question. We were past lovers, that's it. But I am concerned with Lori. We were now on good terms but what if she knew, everything will be back to trouble?
It is obvious that she liked Josh. By how she clung to Josh, by how she stared at him, and by how she liked to be teased by him. I am totally okay with it because we were "past lovers".
I sighed. Maybe I should tell them to clear things out. "Uh... nothing." I started and they have no response. They still waited for me to continue.
"Josh... is my ex-boyfriend." I looked down.
"What?!" they exclaimed in chorus. Their eyes widened in shock.
I looked at Lori. "L-Lori, trust me... we're over," I muttered.
"Huh? What are you saying?" she responded while folding her forehead.
"You like him, did you?"
There was a moment of silence right after I said that. And a few seconds later, Lori burst into laughter. She was even touching her stomach because of laughing hard. And for your information, her laugh was extraordinary. It sounded like a pig! Some were also laughing because of her laugh except me. I am still in my confusion.
"Sorry," Lori said in between her laugh. She wiped her eyes which are a bit teary and then calm herself. "I already felt ever since that you two seemed to like having something. From the very moment that you two introduced yourselves to one another during the so-called 'first meet-up', there is something that I felt between the two of you. And you know, from the very start, I was fond of mocking you." she started with a giggle. "So I became clingy to Josh for me to see your reaction. You know what, I tried to ask Josh between the two of you but he did not answer me."
What? So all along I thought that she likes Josh---but she wasn't.
"Oh, my gosh! I couldn't believe it!" Gina said with a sharp scornful voice. "So you two were past lovers, and you were staying here in this academy. Hmmm..." She went on, giggling like a worm.
"We're over, guys," I told them. Honestly, all I could really say is that we're over. Past is past. Tsk.
"But change is constant, Jobigirl. We don't know. Maybe your feelings will come back!" Lori muttered and they all shouted "yieeee!" in chorus.
Uh, I hate this topic.
I just shook my head and decided to stand up. "We better get going. Break time is over." I said to them and they make a face.
"Uh, tell us first why you two had broken up." Mami V said, raising his two brows together repeatedly.
I heaved a sigh and looked at them one-by-one. They all gave me puppy eyes.
