Hope vs Despair

[Y/n] jumped backward. "You scuttling insects!" Vetto yelled as he charged for Asta. [Y/n] flew after him and landed a punch, sending Vetto to the ground. [Y/n] flew into a portal when Vetto came after her, and a portal appeared behind Vetto. He smirked and tried to punch into it, but he punched a boulder.

A portal appeared under him, and Asta came up then cut him in the face. [Y/n] flew at a quick speed behind them and cut him with her dagger. "We're going to defeat you...with this weapon!" Asta yelled.

"Vanessa!" [Y/n] called.

"Right!" Vanessa pulled Asta out of the way. [Y/n] placed the palm of her gauntlet on Vetto's back. "Angel Magic: Angel's Holy Ray!" [Y/n] shot a beam of light at Vetto, sending him flying. "Now you've done it, humans!" Vetto growled as he landed on his feet. [Y/n] and Asta landed in front of Vanessa and Finral.

"T-Talk about scary! If we were a second too late, we would have been done for." Finral said. "Good work, [Y/n], little boy! Keep it up!" Vanessa cheered.

"No, wait! I didn't even do anything!" Asta said. "Yeah. Our attacks wouldn't happen if it wasn't for both of you." [Y/n] said with a small smile. "Thank you!" Asta cheered.

Vetto chuckled then laughed evilly. "How amusing. To think that four people who are worthless alone could fight me by bonding together...It makes me sick!" Vetto growled and his mana covered his claws, "Don't think that you have hope just because you've banded together, humans!"

"Let's go!" Vanessa said, and Vetto came charging towards them. Asta and [Y/n] charged towards Vetto. [Y/n] flew into the air while Asta entered a portal. He then exited out another portal, ready to stab Vetto, but Vetto saw right through the attack.

Vanessa yanked and pulled Asta through another portal as [Y/n] made her way around Vetto. "Holy Arc!" [Y/n] shot arrows of light that Vetto avoided.

"Not done yet!" Asta yelled while exiting a portal then swung his sword, cutting Vetto. [Y/n] flew through a portal. Asta and [Y/n] moved so fast in and out of each portal to confuse Vetto. Asta popped up and tried to cut Vetto, but he dodged Asta's attack. Vanessa pulled Asta away, and [Y/n] went for an attack with her blade, but Vetto dodged as well.

"Damn." [Y/n] muttered and flew into a portal. [Y/n] noticed Asta's movements were slowing down. 'Oh no...' [Y/n] thought. Vetto was able to scratch Asta's side, and he screamed in pain.

"Asta!" [Y/n] called and cast a healing spell. She landed next to him. "This should stop the bleeding." [Y/n] said while trying to catch her breath.

"This is nothing." Asta said as Vetto landed a few meters away, "One of his attacks just grazed me! Let's do it again!" Asta said.

"Hold it, kid." Yami said.

"Captain Yami?" Asta muttered. "You should be the first one to know that he didn't just happen to graze you, since you and [Y/n] are fighting him up close. That bastard was purposely not attacking as much and defending instead to better understand your habits. If you barge in unprepared...He's definitely going to get you next."

[Y/n] and Asta glared at Vetto. 'I have to use mana zone.' [Y/n] thought.

"No, [Y/n]. Your body isn't ready for that advanced technique and mana output." Thea said, and [Y/n] glared harder. 'I want to at least try.' [Y/n] thought.

"As expected from the Black Swordsman. That's why I'm saving you for my main dish. But what difference does that fact make? This situation is still filled with despair." Vetto said with a big grin, "Insects, this next attack will be your last!"

"You don't get to decide that, you hairy gorilla. You, too, Captain! We won't until we try!" Asta yelled while standing up.

[Y/n] stood up as well. "I know, damn it! Because I'm a bazillion times stronger than you!" Yami yelled. "Then stop watching and come help us!" Asta said.
