[Y/n] walked back to the castle from the hot spring with everyone. "Princess!" [Y/n] saw Albern running towards them. 'I'm in trouble...' [Y/n] thought.
"Where have you been?!" He asked, and Mereoleona walked over to him. "She wanted to come to the hot spring. Who was I to refuse the princess?" She questioned.
Albert sighed. "You have to return to the castle." He said, and [Y/n]'s eyes widened. "Why?!" [Y/n] questioned.
"His majesty wants you home at the castle." Albern said with an apologetic look, "I'm sorry."
[Y/n]'s expression saddened. "All right then..." She muttered.
"But..." Asta muttered.
[Y/n] smiled at her friends. "I'll see you guys at the Royal Knight Exam." She said and walked with Albern.
Later that night, [Y/n] couldn't sleep. She wanted to go home back to the Black Bulls' squad house. She was walking around the castle in her pink nightgown, and she ended up back at the library. [Y/n] stared up at her mother's portrait. "Do...you miss her?" [Y/n] heard and looked at the door to see Albern leaning on the door frame.
"No... I don't." [Y/n] said and sat on a chair. Albern walked over and sat in a chair next to her.
"Why not?" He asked.
"How can you miss something I've never had?" [Y/n] questioned, "Do you miss her?"
Albern sighed. "Everyday..." He said.
"How did you two meet?" [Y/n] questioned, "What was she like?"
"It's a long story... I wasn't the best man in the past..." Albern said.
"It's a good thing that I can't sleep." [Y/n] said with a small smile.
"I met Queen Rose when I was 17, and she was 20. Every week the queen would take a stroll through the common realm, helping those in need and performing her Song Magic for everyone. Everyone loved her. I, on the other hand, wanted to abuse her kindness."
"Please, my queen. Slow down." The servant whined while Rose quickly walked in front of him. Her [h/c] hair that fell past her shoulders bounced with every step she took.
"Come on, Charles. I want to see the children at the orphanage. They're expecting me to read to them." Rose said, cheerfully. Rose began to hear music, causing her to stop. She smiled and placed a few gold coins into the musician's basket. "Y-Your Majesty." He said and bowed.
"Please, there's no need to bow." Rose said with a kind smile.
A pale black-haired man with tattered clothes watched from afar and smirked when he thought of a plan. He put on his best acting face and stumbled over to the queen. Rose caught the man before he could hit the ground. "A-Are you all right, sir?!" Rose asked.
"Y-Your Majesty?! P-Please forgive me! I didn't mean to-" He panicked.
"Nonsense. Are you all right?" Rose asked. The man nodded. Rose giggled and pushed his long bangs back.
"Maybe, if your hair wasn't in your face, you would be able to see." Rose joked.
"Your Majesty, the orphans..." Charles said.
"Right..." Rose muttered and looked back at the man, "What is your name, sir?"
"A-Albern Hollowman."
"Well, Albern, how would you like to be treated to dinner and a hair cut after I read to the orphans?" Rose asked, and Albern slowly nodded.
