5 Seconds of Summer (también conocidos como 5SOS por sus siglas) es una banda originaria de Sidney, Australia, de géneros pop y rock. La banda está conformada por Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin y Michael Clifford. Esta banda comenzó a formarse poco a poco, cuando en Febrero de 2011, Luke decidió subir covers a YouTube, más tarde acompañado con Michael y Calum, sus compañeros de escuela. En Diciembre de 2011, cerraron la banda con Ashton, a quien conocen a través de una publicación de Michael en Facebook buscando un baterista. Su nombre como banda nació gracias a Michael, el cual creó de la nada mientras estaba en una clase de matemáticas. Cuando se le ocurrió el nombre, creó la página de Facebook y mandó mensajes a los chicos diciendo que había cambiado el nombre y ya había creado la página. A los demás no les gustó mucho el nombre pero se quedó. Con ensayos en su cochera, su primer concierto en un hotel de Sídney, covers, presentaciones en lugares públicos y demás, se empezaron a hacer más conocidos gracias Louis Tomlinson y Niall Horan, quienes los encontraron mientras ellos vagaban por YouTube, les gustaron tanto que decidieron llamarlos para el tour de One Direction en 2013. Sus fans son conocidos como 5SOS Family (o 5SOS Fam) ya que, según Michael, son como su familia. El 11 de mayo de 2015 los chicos se vieron obligados a cambiar el logo de la banda que consistía en 5 palitos (a este logo los fans lo consideraban como que 4 de esos palitos eran los chicos y el sobrante eran ellos) ya que otro proyecto de negocio llamado Undefeated los denunció por utilizar su mismo logo. La banda dice que algunas de sus inspiraciones son Blink-182, All Time Low, Green Day, Mayday Parade, Boys Like Girls y Busted.

5 Seconds of Summer (also known as 5SOS for its initials) is a band from Sydney, Australia, of pop and rock genres. The band is made up of Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford. This band began to form slowly, when in February 2011, Luke decided to upload covers in YouTube, later accompanied for Michael and Calum, his schoolmates. In December 2011, they closed the band with Ashton, whom they meet for Michael's Facebook post looking for a drummer. Their name as a band was born thanks to Michael, who created it while he was in a Math class. When the name came to him, he created the Facebook page and texted the boys saying that he had change the name and had already create the page. The other guys didn't like the name very much but it stayed. With rehearsals in their garage, their first concert in a hotel in Sydney, covers, presentations in public places and others, they became more known thanks to Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, who found them while they were roaming YouTube, they liked them so much that decided to call them up for the One Direction tour in 2013. Their fans are known as 5SOS Family (or 5SOS Fam) since, according to Michael, they are like their family. On May 11, 2015, the boys were forced to change the logo band, which consisted of 5 sticks (this logo was considered by fans as 4 of those sticks were the boys and the leftover were they) since another business project called Undefeated denounced them for using the same logo.
