I'm going to be honest: I haven't even read all of the top 99 stories, I think I've plowed through...52. out of 99. That's...more than half, so yeah, I'm getting there.
To properly gauge how 'good' those 99 stories are, I made a graph with three divisions, the first one is a yes or no question, it asks 'is it about SCP?'.
If it is (Most are, thankfully) 1 point will be added to the story's 'raw score' (more on that later) and if not, -1 point.
Next up is title, easy enough. At the end, if said story is a shipping story, I added a '{S}' to the end. I tend to be more critical of those sorts of stories, so that's there as a disclaimer.
The last division is for Notes and the raw score, a number that's used to show how good/bad it is, it's on a scale of 0-10, 0 being the worst hive or scum and villainy, and 10 being the best thing since the periodic table.
To find the total score of a story, you need to add it's score from 0-10, plus or minus one, depending on the first division, then divide by two.
For example, if I gave a SCP related story a 4.8, you would add 1 to 4.8, then divide. In this case, the total score would be 2.9.
For this chapter, I'll be going into the top 52 as a whole, so, I counted, and 32 of the 52 were ships and ship-related, that's approximately 61.54 percent of the stories that were ship-related.
God, what the fuck, guys.
Lowest score given was a 1.5, highest score was 8.7, so average score was a 5.1.
27 had involved SCP-049.
TWENTY. SEVEN.
That's.....
51.23% of the total.
A tiny bit over half.
WHY SCP-049?
Out of nearly 6000 SCPs, you choose....the plague doctor. Not even the joke version?
Wait, there is one with SCP-049-J, never mind.
Quite a few included SCP-173, as well. I don't have any data regarding SCP-173, but
almost all of the ships were {INSERT Skip HERE} X Reader
which really makes me question humanity in general.
Small rant here:
There are two, maybe three stories about how 'you're the ONLY female D-Class at site something-something'
and I thought, wow.
That's statistically improbable.
For example, uhhhhh, the largest prison in my state has 1,318 inmates. Assuming that the gender ratio is the same in prison as it is in the wide world, which is approximately 1:1 (107:100, if you want to be exact) there are 659 male inmates, and 659 female inmates. Thank god it divides evenly.
Going even deeper, let's assume that the skip foundation recruits from this specific prison, and their rate of recruitment is.....20 percent. 20% of 1,318 is 263.6, but we can round that up to 264.
With that 1:1 gender ratio, it means that.....132 of the recruited 264 are female.
Of course, that assuming the skip foundation chose at random.
And that racial and gender crime rates are the same.
Yeah, in a perfect world, maybe.
In a perfect world we wouldn't have crime, dumbass.
"I'm concerned for you guys."
