ZAC POV

After the argument with Mom I didn't know where to go. I was driving around town and ready to head inside the bar when I felt something in my pocket.  Maybe talking to stranger like him is much better than any of my family member so I dialled his number.

(PHONE CONVERSATION)

Benjie:       Hello?! (He picked up in sly tone)

Me:             Hi Ben! It's Zac, remember the guy from the café? (I introduced myself)

Benjie:       Oh yeah! What can I do for you Zac? (His tone became lively)

Me:             Is your offer being my friend still stands? I could use one right now. (I sounded pathetic)

Benjie:       Of course. (He confirmed)

Me:             Are you still at the café? (I cleared my throat)

Benjie:       Yeah I'm here in my office come and drop by. (Sounds like an inviting)

Me:             Thanks man! (I turned to next roundabout)

Benjie:       I'll see you soon. (The line went dead)

(END OF PHONE CONVERSATION)

Twenty minutes top I'm already inside his office and having coffee.

"So what's bugging you man?" Ben sipped from his mug.

"It's because for a girl." I concede.

"So was it a bad break up?" He added.

"No not really that girl is... my wife. Actually I lost my memory due to accident six months ago..." I began my story.

"Wow... your life is complicated man." He pointed out.

"I know man and I don't know what to do. I can't just pop to our house and say... hey babe! I'm alive!" I tried to act lively.

"Why not? She's your wife man. She vows to be with you for better or worse. Why don't you try to go back there and be a man?" Ben encouraged me.

"What if she already moved on? What if she found someone else to replace me? What about my kids? Oh God! They don't know they have a father who's alive and breathing." I ranted like a mad man.

"Chill man. For all you know she is still grieving how can you tell and know she found someone else?  From the way your story goes and described her to me I don't think Shannen can move on that fast. Women tend to be more emotional and be in denial longer than we are." Ben pointed out.

"You're right man. I have to come back with my wife and our kids. I only saw their pictures and for the first time I'm so proud of myself." I smiled with a bit of sadness.

"That's the spirit! Go get your wife and your family back. Wait! You mentioned about your accident." He started thinking deeply.

"Last time I checked, my memory lost from it. Why?" I wondered.

"If there was a threat from your father the accident could be plotted." Ben placed a hand on his chin.

"That is possible." I confirmed.

"If our suspicions are true then you and your family are in great danger." He logically claimed.

"Damn it! I need to go back to New York as soon as I can! I swear if anything happens with my kids and my wife. I will track them down and kill whoever will harm my family." I'm now in panic.

"Why don't you go with me? I'm flying in New York tonight." He proposed.

"Are you sure there is still room for me? I will pay the tickets." I offered back.

"No need for that I'm using private plane so are you coming?" He dismissed the idea.

"This is too much and I don't know how to thank you." I protested.

"Stop whining. Do it for Shannen and the kids! I'm also excited to meet the kids!" He exclaimed.

"Fine I'm taking your offer just because of them. For the record I'm the father so it's my call whether you can see them or not." I teased with a wicked smile.

"Well I could go back alone in NY and you can stay here." He countered.

"You win man I'm coming with you. We've only known each other for few hours but it feels like a long time. I'm glad I met you and tasted that cookie otherwise we won't be here now." I stated the fact.

"Technically this is a family business. I'm actually staying in America and running my own café there. It's just recently my expertise is needed here so I fly back." He cocky explained.

"Well after all this madness I will surely visit your café with my wife." I thought of it.

"I am expecting that besides I get to meet the woman that got you so whipped." He teased.

"I don't deny it. She is after all my woman." I admitted.

"Before you turn softie get your ass up and pack your things. The plane leaves at 2130 so might as well prepare your speech. I'll see you later at the airport around 1800." He ushered me to the door.

"I'll better be going. See you!" I waved my hand.

I drive home excitedly but at the same time I'm so damn nervous. I grabbed my passport and credit card the only missing is my wedding ring. Damn! I'm sure Mom kept it somewhere safe. Woohoo!! Finally I will see my wife and my kids.
