16- the lead up to the proposal

It was proposal day and I couldn't contain my excitement. The only problem was I didn't know if Chloe was home. I hoped that she was and that her and I could fix things. After my chat with Ashley I felt a bit better knowing that there was more to it then I knew.

I got ready quickly and went to find Ashley.

Me: "morning. Have you spoken to Chloe?"
Ashley: "morning. I have"
Me: "what did she say?"
Ashley: "that she'll be home later which means...."
Me: "we have a venue to start decorating"
Ashley: "exactly. Go get your coat then we can get the decorations and set the hall up"
Me: "this is going to be amazing"
Ashley: "I hope so"

I went to get my coat and got in the car. After we had everything we needed we went to the venue to start decorating and getting it ready for tonight. We were just over half way through setting up when Chloe rang asking to be picked up from the station.

Ashley: "what do I do?"
Me: "you go pick her up and distract her while I finish up here. Don't come back until I message you. If she asks where I am tell her I'm catching up with a friend."
Ashley: "you sure?"
Me: "yeah go. Leave this to me"

Ashley told me to message him if I needed anything and left to pick Chloe up. While he was gone I tried planning out what I'd say to Chloe then realised that it would come to me when the moment came. I finished decorating, I was going to text Bex to tell her what was happening and see if she could pick me up then I was like I'll tell her when I next see her. I quickly tidied all the rubbish up and text Ashley that it was safe to bring Chloe. He said they'd be five minutes so I quickly found somewhere to hide, put my phone on silent and waited for them.

As I heard them arrive, I kept hoping to myself that everything would go as it was meant to and that Chloe would say yes.
