After Ashley and Chloe had told me and I'd excused myself to my room I decided to try and google about adoption and how old I'd have to be to search for my mum.
End of flashback
A few weeks after I'd found out the truth, I came home from school and only Ashley was home. Ashley and Chloe had a rule that they'd make sure at least one of them was home after school: looked like today it was Ashley.
Me: I'm home
Ashley: hey, I'm in the kitchen
Me: where's Chloe?
Ashley: had an important meeting so we had to swap days, why?
Me: ah, I was going to talk to her about something but it can wait. Do you know what time she'll be home?
Ashley: I don't. Can I help?
Me: I was going to ask if she'd spoken to Bex about my mum.
Ashley: all I know is that she did. You'll have to wait until she gets home.
*Chloe comes home*
Ashley: hey, Ava was asking if you'd spoken to Bex earlier
Chloe: where is she?
Ashley: in her room
Chloe: can I come in?
Me: yeah
Chloe: how was school? Sorry I wasn't here when you got home.
Me: it was good thanks. How was your meeting?
Chloe: alright thanks. I spoke to Bex and she's going to look into the details they have for your mum, see if they're still correct and try and contact her. But don't get your hopes up
Me: thanks Chloe.
