Aria

Napaangat ako sa inuupuan ko habang nanonood ng TV nang pumasok sa kwarto si Ate Louella.

"Congrats." Ibinato nito yung newspaper sa may bedside table.

Nagtatakang dinampot ko naman iyon para matingnan.

Corinne. She place eight in the board exams.

I smiled at that. She really made it.

"As I've heard, Vanilla's family is scouting her. She might be part of them soon."

Nice. Van's family is into real estates and properties. She'll do well with them for sure.

Umupo si Ate Louella sa kama ko saka iyon inayos.

"Aren't you going to get her back? She's a nice catch."

Umiling ako. Though licensed na si Corinne ngayon, hindi nya pa nafufulfill yung gusto nya. Besides, I'm still tied up. Eight months. Just freakin' eight months pa lang. Another fourteen months before I could go.

"The two years is not yet over."

"You should know by now that our parents won't let you go by that time. They might have already set you up with Kiel before that agreement lapsed."

Nagtatakang nilingon ko si Ate Louella. She's the only person in my family that has my full of respect. Sya lang din kasi ang kakampi ko. She had become our parent's puppet. The only exchanged she asked for it ay huwag lang itong ipagkakasundo sa kahit kanino para lang sa business merger.

"Kausap na nila Dad yung pamilya nila Kiel nung Tuesday."

I didn't even ask kung kanino at paano niya iyon nalaman. Saming dalawa, si Louella lang ang nasa Manila pag weekdays para mag asikaso ng business namin doon. Tapos pumupunta lang dito sa Cebu pag weekends para mag oversee ng activies ng nakaraang linggo.

Lahat ng balita sa nangyayari doon ay sinasabi nya sakin kahit hindi ako nagtatanong.

"I won't marry that guy." Madiing kontra ko.

"I know." Pag sang-ayon ni Ate Louella. "But just so you know, our parents would still use your weakness against you."

"Si Corinne?"

"Isn't she?"

Damn! Bakit ba nila ginagamit si Corinne? Just because hindi nila ako mapipilit na gawin yung hindi ko gusto, they'll use other people to manipulate me. Without Corinne, wala ng magagamit ang mga magulang namin para pasunurin ako.

"Alam mo din naman na siguro na si Uncle Robert ang nagpasara ng company na pinagtatrabahuhan ninyo ni Jen, hindi ba?" She referred to Jen's father na may mga koneksyon sa gobyerno being a governor.

"I know."

"The idea was suggested by Dad. And Uncle Robert has never been too agreeable in the idea. They can tie Jen too."

True. Jen is also tied to do what her father wants. Ang tanging kaibahan lang namin, her dad is in favor of her boyfriend since Den is also a part of the elite family.

" Do you know who's keeping your wench? "

" She's my girlfriend and not just some wench." Bahagyang angil ko dito.

"Was." Ate Louella corrected. "She was your girlfriend."

Minabuti ko na hindi na iyon kontrahin dahil iyon naman ang totoo. Before I run off, Corinne and I broke up. More of, I broke up with her and she's not still accepting it. But no closure is still counted as a closure itself, right?
