Millies POV-

I walked into school, getting a call from my mom, as i furrowed my eyebrows, answering it.

"mom?"
"hey sweetie." i heard her sniffle
"what's wrong?"
"millie honey the biopsy results came back."
"oh no."
"it is lymphoma. they are admitting me right now"
"i'll try & get a ride to the hospital. i love you"

i sniffled, hanging up the phone. I walked to my locker, wiping my tears, trying to find Finn.

I saw him with Iris, as I furrowed my eyebrows, watching her flirt with him.

My eyes widened, as she kissed him, making my body fill with anger.

I walked up to them, seeing iris smirk at me and give me rude looks.

"bye finnie!" she walked off, as tears fell out of my eyes.

I knew this was going to happen.

I stormed off, running to the bathroom, as i locked myself in the stall, crying.

Nothing ever goes my way.

I sniffled, getting a text.

i sniffled, putting my phone away, as i sighed, wiping my tears.

I guess i'm gonna walk to the hospital.

I arrived at the hospital a few hours later, out of breath. I walked in, feeling the AC hit me, making me sigh a breath of relief.

I went to my moms room, smiling lightly, as she patted the spot next to her.

I walked over, sitting next to her, hugging her.

"Mom it's gonna be okay. The doctors here are really good, they can get the mets out."

"Millie sweetie we need to talk."

"about what?"

"The surgery is inoperable." she mumbled, looking down.

"okay? well we can get a second opinion"—

"Millie sweetie. I'm too tired for that."

"Mom. you have to fight." i croaked, as tears welled up in my eyes. "You can't give up."

"Millie, i don't have a lot more time. But i want you to know that"—

"no stop that! you're not dying!" i cried, as she sighed, grabbing my hand.

"I love you. Everything will be okay"—

"stop saying that mom. you're fine." i cried, hugging her tightly, as she sniffled, hugging me.
