When Yoongi finally fell asleep, Jimin brushed his hair back. His own eyes wet with unshed tears. He never wanted to see Yoongi like this again. So terrified, so broken.
When he woke up to an empty apartment he searched his inbox for a message, but there were none. He paced the length of the apartment five times. When he finally heard the elevator he'd stilled, waiting for Yoongi to come inside, but he didn't. That's when he opened the apartment door to an anxious, shivering Yoongi.
He'd never seen Yoongi like that before and it really scared Jimin.
He didn't stop rocking Yoongi until his eyes stopped their crying and his body had stopped trembling, realxing in Jimin's arms, limp and exhausted.
He didn't think he'd be able to recapture sleep after the scare, worried that he'd awake to empty arms a second time.
When the sky brightened to dusk and then later morning he messaged Jeongguk and Tae to take their notes. They were staying inside today. Jeongguk accepted, no questions asked, and Jimin left Tae with a vague response. Yoongi needed a day.
When Yoongi finally stirred awake, he pouted harshly against Jimin's shoulder.
"Minie?"
"Here baby."
Yoongi sighed and snuggled closer. "What time is it?"
"Eleven ish."
Yoongi started, pushing against Jimin's firm grasp. "I have classes today! Minie!"
Jimin rested his forehead on Yoongi's shoulder. "I called us out. I don't want you going out today. And I'm staying right with you."
Yoongi's breathing evened as his initial panic subsided. "In all day?"
Jimin nodded. "Let's go make breakfast."
He coaxed Yoongi out of his lap and got some feeling back into his legs, making a show of stretching and yawning. "How do pancakes sound?"
So Jimin made pancakes, trapped between Yoongi's arms as he shuffled around the kitchen, stopping intermittently to press a glass of water to Yoongi's chapped lips. And they sat on the couch, tangled in each other as they ate, letting the tv cover the silence.
When Jimin cleared away their empty plates, he settled across from Yoongi.
"Are you ready to talk about it?" He whispered. "I won't push you if you ask me not to, but I want to be here for you."
"I think I'm ready." Yoongi drew in a labored breath and sat up a little straighter.
"There are a few things I've been thinking about. And I'm a little confused with myself. And I don't want to hurt you by keeping it from you." He tugged his sleeves down over his fingers, leg bouncing to a rhythm only Yoongi could hear.
Jimin swallowed, slightly worried about what he didn't know, but more worried about how Yoongi was handling himself. Like he was scared.
"I think, I think I'm poly?" Yoongi breathed. "And that doesn't mean I love you less. And it definitely doesn't mean you aren't enough. I just. I think I might have a crush on someone. But there's no way I would go out with anyone who wasn't you, without you. Am I making sense?" He groaned into his hands.
"Like. If you and I found someone we both loved, then I wouldn't mind having another boyfriend. But only if it was mutual in all directions."
Jimin released a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. "I know what you mean."
"I understand if you don't feel comfortable with that. I won't push anything. A- And I understand if you don't feel co-comfortable... with... me. I'll," He swallowed hard, voice cracking with emotion, "I'll understand."
Jimin was at his side in seconds, "No baby, listen to me. I'm completely comfortable with you. I don't care if you're polyamorous. God! I wouldn't care if you were blue! I love my Min Yoongi. I love you, okay?" He pressed his lips against Yoongi's cheek, tasting saltiness.
"I'm open to that too baby. Please don't cry. It hurts when you cry."
"You, You do? You are? Y-you're not mad?" Yoongi managed, wiping at his eyes and gripping Jimin's hand tightly in his own.
"No, of course not. I'm not mad at all Yoongi hyung." Jimin smiled, pulling Yoongi into his arms again, where he belonged.
"I used to think a lot about how I felt about polyamory. But I gave up because I had no way of knowing until it was something I had experience with. If it's something that works for us, I'm completely open with it." Jimin admitted.
"I love you too." Yoongi sniffled.
"Hyung?"
"Mm?"
"Can I guess who you have a crush on?" Jimin giggled, loving the way the elder's cheeks heated with embarrassment.
"... Fine." He sighed, "but not too many guesses?"
"Okay," Jimin agreed, finding a more comfortable way to rest with Yoongi against his chest. "Does he work with TaeTae?"
"Y-yeah."
"Is he a friend of ours?"
"It's not Googie or Tae if that's what you're asking." he huffed and Jimin chuckled.
"No, but I'm pretty sure I do know now."
Yoongi twisted to get look Jimin in the eyes, agreeance passing between them.
"No way!" Jimin giggled. "He's so cute!"
"Not as cute as you though," Yoongi teased, a little color back in his face. "Wanna nap?"
Jimin hummed in approval. "Be here when I wake up?"
"I promise." Yoongi whispered.
