"Hey, doofus---guess what I saw?" Devyn came into her brother's room.
"Don't come in here," he pointed to her, directing from the bed. "I don't allow nerds in my room."
"You're an asshole," she wrinkled her nose. "Fine, then I'm not gonna tell you what I saw this morning," she snubbed him and spun around.
"I don't care what you saw," he scoffed.
"Well, then I guess you don't care that I saw mom and dad hugging this morning," she teased. "I even saw her kiss him."
"Whoa, what?" he asked, stunned by that.
"I know!" she squealed, making her way towards the bed, hopping on in a girly fashion.
"Don't scream, please. Ugh, you may not be able to sing, but you sure have the vocals of a second soprano."
"Oh, shut up," she whacked him hard enough to make him bring his hand up to his arm. "You wanna know or what?" she whispered.
"Where's dad?" he asked, getting up to shut his bedroom door.
"He's downstairs, asleep on the couch."
"Okay," he spun around. "So, like she actually hugged him and kissed him?"
"Yeah, like a whole hug. A loving hug, but she only kissed him on the side of the face," she explained, tapping her cheek out of gesturing before pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "She even said sorry for being mean to him."
He arched a brow as he crossed his arms. "What do you think it means?"
"I dunno," she shrugged. "But it's kind of exciting to think mom and dad might be getting along enough to stay together."
"Yeah, they did a good job at getting together. Dad made me do my laundry," he added with an eye roll. "He said mom shouldn't have to do our laundry."
She shrugged. "I mean, we probably could do it ourselves."
"It's not that bad, but make sure you don't mix red and white together. All my boxers and socks are pink because dad didn't tell me that part and he left to make a phone call."
She let off a laugh, "You're stupid. Everybody knows you don't mix color with white. Especially red."
"That's right, you're the nerd," he rolled his eyes.
"I'm gonna see if dad wants to start teaching me to drive my new car," she got up and moved passed him.
"Don't wreck," he cautioned before falling back into his bed with his Rolling Stones magazine.

It was dinner time; everybody was together and surrounding the round table; Devyn and Isaac actually maintaining civility while everybody served food.
"Did you guys get all that needed to be done, done?" Lindsey asked the two women as he poured lemonade into glasses.
"Yeah," Stevie nodded, smiling gently as she passed around utensils.
Isaac nudged his sister gently under the table, raising his brow.
She rose a brow with a subtle nod.
"Mom's got all of her medicine, we have groceries so no more eating out this weekend," she simply added. "No offense, but the kids have had a ton of junk food and fast food since you've gotten back."
"It's all good," Lindsey chuckled as he helped seat the women. "Never said my eating habits were great."
"Dad took me around in my new car and went to a deserted park for me to try," Devyn mentioned.
