Mr. Hatsune's POV: (A/N: Finally right?)

"TAKASHI!!! SNAP OUT OF IT!" Yelled one of my co-workers.

I turned to look at him. "What?" I asked.

"Your shift was over a half an hour ago...you can go home now you know..." he answered.

"Mhm..." I stood slowly and put on my coat.

"Your coat's inside out." My co-worker pointed out.

I glanced down. It WAS inside out.

"Also why do you need a coat? It's pretty warm out."

"Shut up Trevor." I mumbled.

I trudged out the door and to my car.

No one understands. They don't know the pain...the deep, dark, agonizing pain that I feel. The pain that comes when you lose the one you love the most.

I knew...I knew she was dying. Yet I still did everything in my power to try and keep her here. The doctors said she might get better. I believed them over my poor wife. My beautiful wife! Some of the men at my job who counted themselves as my "friends" keep telling me I need to let her go. "Live in the present!" They say. "Raise your kids!"

My kids are pretty much grown up. They can take care of themselves.

She was so young! It wasn't fair that she was taken from me.

Some of my co-workers say I'm absent minded and lazy. That isn't true...I just lose my focus quite a bit.

I pulled into my driveway and wasn't at all prepared for what I saw.

A police-woman was there. My son...Mikuo was talking to her.

What had the kid gotten into? Is it my fault?

I stepped out of my car and crossed over to the police-woman.

"What happened?" I asked to both of them.

Mikuo's eyes were watery. What was going on?

"Sir...I regret to have to tell you that..."

"MIKU!" I shouted. "Don't tell me miku is dead!"

"No! No sir!" The woman rushed. "No she is probably at the hospital right now."

"What..." I wheezed. "What happened?"

"There was a break in..." the woman started. "We got here and caught the guy. Your daughter...Miku?"

I nodded.

"She was tied up and thrown into a closet...unconscious."

"She was sick dad..." Mikuo wailed. "She was sick and I left her home. I should have stayed home with her. I could have protected her!"

"It's...that's not your...responsibility son."

"Will she be okay?" Mikuo asked the police-woman.

"I can't say. I'm not a doctor." The woman said sadly.

"Which hospital?" I asked. "I need to get there now."

"I can take you in my car." the lady announced. She seemed desperate to contribute something to our situation.

I nodded. Mikuo and I followed the lady and soon we were on the road.

What a terrible father I am. I neglected her. I couldn't bear to look at her for she looked so much like her mother...all I could do was pray.

And hope that she wouldn't end up with her mother.
