chapter 29
"V!" Melanie giggled as she ran away from Taehyung for the tenth time.
Kids were very repetitive, Jennie realized. If they found joy in one thing, they tended to do the same for several times over.
They were at a park, Jimin and Jennie sitting on the bench a little in the distance as Taehyung played with his little sister.
The park was pretty big and there were a few other children playing around, but they weren't in the way so they didn't bother the four.
That was until a little boy, who looked around Melanie's age, ran up to Jimin and just stared at him. Jennie looked at the two curiously.
"Your hair is pink." The boy stated, pointing to Jimin's head for emphasis.
"And?" Jimin narrowed his eyes at the kid.
Jennie tried to hide her smile behind her hand by biting on her nail. "You're a boy." The kid stated bluntly.
Jimin handed his slushly to Jennie and leaned forward, his elbows placed on his thighs. "Yeah, and what about it?"
Jennie looked at him with wild eyes. What was he gonna do, beat the kid? Unexpectedly, the kid touched his own brown hair and murmured. "I want it like that too."
Jimin looked at him with uncertainty. "You should go ask your mom."
The kid seemed to think for a moment before saying "okay" and running off to some woman. Jennie shook her head and handed him his drink back.
"You're just setting him up." Jennie watched as the boy's mom looked at him with wide eyes and grabbed his and another little girl's hand before storming off to a car.
"What? Is pink hair that bad?" Jimin asked offendedly and Jennie chuckled.
"Your hair is cute, shut up." Jennie turned to smile at Jimin, but then became aware of how close they were.
