mingyu really didn't want to go to school the next day, it would be extremely embarrassing, but he had to because he needed his scholarship back

so, there he was, sitting in his seat in algebra class silently while paying attention to what the teacher was saying

he looked around to see if anyone was staring at him for what had happened the day before, but everyone was paying attention so he sighed in relief, then he saw minghao which made him remember the look on wonwoo's face when he had yelled the day before

he had never seen wonwoo looking at him without a cold look which made him confused, the weirdest thing was that his gaze was full of hope and surprise

however he needed to stop getting distracted or else he would keep feeling as a burden for seungkwan even though he could pay for half the student's tuition and barely feel a change in his wallet

just when he was about to concentrate again, his biology teacher came in the classroom "sorry for the interruption, but i need to talk to kim mingyu" she said

the algebra teacher just nodded and signaled him that he could leave which made him extremely nervous, was his other teacher going to scold him for the test?

she took him to the biology classroom which was alone and said "i know what happened yesterday"

"teacher, i'm sorry, it won't happen again and i promise i'll take full resp-" he said seriously

"no, it's a mental health issue and i would never punish you for something you can't control, that's why i brought you here, i graded your test that was nearly finished, it only had two questions without any response, congratulations you got a 98, all the questions you answered were correct" she said

mingyu was speechless for a few seconds "i- i'm so thankful" he said

"you're a good kid, and a smart one for sure, your grade was the highest in all the class and you didn't even finish it, now take it easy and finish your exams calmly so you can enjoy the winter trip" she said with a smile

"i will, teacher, thank you for this opportunity, i won't take it for granted" he said and left to class

"guess what" mingyu said with a grin ad he sat beside his friends

"what?" seungkwan asked eagerly and lifted his head up from hansol's lap were he had been about to fall asleep

"i'm keeping my scholarship, the teacher graded my test even though i didn't even finish it or turned it in and i got a 98" he said

the other three started celebrating and hugged him "we told you you could do it" seungcheol said

mingyu grinned "thanks to soulmate guy" he said and the other three nodded while laughing

"give yourself some credit, you did well too" seungkwan said and hit his shoulder playfully

"i know, i know, i just feel like i need to thank him, don't you think?" mingyu asked

hansol chuckled "doesn't he hate you though? i think you can thank him by staying away" he said making the taller pout

"that's probably best" he said sadly "i'll just leave him alone then, right?" he asked

"i mean, if it would make you feel better you could write him a note and just leave it on his deck or something" seungkwan suggested "like a thank you note"

"that's actually pretty good, you wouldn't have to interact with him and i bet he would like that" seungcheol said and giggled

"why don't i send him a message with his friend?" mingyu asked

"that could also work but, isn't it better if you write him something? like it's more sincere" hansol said

"i'll think about it" he chuckled

"so, she called you over to tell you that you could keep your scholarship? does she have a soft spot for you?" seungkwan asked

mingyu giggled "no, she knows of my anxiety problems, i think most teachers know by now, so she said it would be unfair to grade me without my test when i was so close to finishing it and the panic attack was something i couldn't control" he explained

"that's actually pretty nice of her, i'll tell my dad to congratulate her" seungcheol smiled

"she deserves it" hansol said and yawned "i just want this whole mess to end, i'm so tired of school"

"we all are" seungcheol groaned "my best motivation is getting to see you guys"

"same for me" seungkwan pouted "it might be because mingyu's news made me soft, but i love you guys" be said softly

"we love you too" mingyu said and lied down on the floor
