the next day, mingyu seized the moment when wonwoo was alone outside the school gates, it was when they were already going home because he wanted to be alone with him

but something made him hesitate, wonwoo being his soulmate made sense but, why? why didn't he want him to know? was it that wonwoo knew but hated him and decided to hide it? was he embarrassed of his soulmate being mingyu? a lot of questions filled his mind

but as much as he was afraid, he had to confront him, he had waited enough and was ready to know

so as he approached him, he decided to try his luck and pat his shoulder, wonwoo flinched and turned to look at him

"i know you're my soulmate" mingyu said

wonwoo almost died, but he kept a straight face "seungkwan told you, right?" he asked

"WHAT?" mingyu asked "i wasn't expecting that to work, it was just a guess, you- you're my soulmate?" he asked

now wonwoo really wanted to die, he stayed quiet for a few seconds "i blew it" he thought but what came out of his mouth was another thing "no, i- i was just playing along" he said

"don't lie" mingyu said and came closer to him making wonwoo blush

"i'm not lying though, i take improv classes, that's why i played along" he lied nervously

mingyu stared at him weirdly and then lost all his confidence, he felt dumb, wonwoo wasn't his soulmate, because he hadn't gotten the mark when that happened or else he would've noticed, it was too obvious, wonwoo had gotten the mark months after

"oh, sorry, i- i feel dumb" he said and took a step back

"no- i'm sorry" wonwoo said guiltily knowing he needed to be nice, it was the least he could do considering the situation, so he smiled softly "it can happen to anyone, it's okay" he comforted him

mingyu stared at him and gulped, his smile was really pretty, it was calm and brought him warmth when he saw it

"well, i should probably get going" mingyu said embarrassedly

wonwoo giggled and pushed up his glasses, it wasn't a habit of his, he was just flirting and it completely worked for the other "see you around" he said

mingyu just nodded and smiled at him before leaving, now he was really embarrassed, he should've thought well first before making conclusions and humiliating himself

he also felt disappointed, but why? was he just excited at the idea of meeting his soulmate or did he like the idea of it being wonwoo?

but there was no use in thinking about that, the older wasn't his soulmate and that was okay, he should just focus on what was important, finding his soulmate

as he walked away he sighed again "i won't tell the others, it's too embarrassing, i'll keep it to myself until i find my real soulmate and we can all laugh at this funny confusion" he thought exhaustedly

he walked home and started feeling down, he hated that he got excited over nothing and made a complete fool of himself, the worst part was that now wonwoo would think he was delusional

"do you really have to be so stubborn?" he asked his imaginary soulmate "why can't you just tell me who you are?" he whined

"whoever you are, i'll find you soon, i can feel it" he said
