"I think he stood me up..." Kairi pouted and sat on the couch next to Robert.

"C'mon Kai, he's probably just running late." Robert passed the boy the remote.

"Yeah, you're right." Kairi turned the TV on, and the news was on from when his mom watched it last.

He was about to change the channel when something stopped him.

"Mattia Polibio, 16, was a driver of one of the cars. We have been informed that he has sadly passed."

Kairi could feel himself scream but he couldn't hear it.

Robert held him and got his phone to call Mattia's mom. "C-can Kairi come say good bye?"

"Okay, I'm gonna bring him to the hospital now." Robert pulled Kairi up and they got in the car.

Kairi had tears streaming down his face as he saw Mattia's mom standing outside of the room.

"Mama." Kairi cried and hugged her, she held him just as tight and cried with him.

"C'mon honey, let's go say good bye." Kairi nodded and didn't bother wiping the tears off of his face.

Kairi opened the door and his heart broke as reality hit. He slowly walked over to the bed and tears were pouring down his face as he saw all of the machines off and the huge gash wrapped up on Mattia's head.

He grabbed his hand and it was ice cold, he felt like he couldn't breathe. He wrapped his arms around the boy's body and sobbed and cried.

When the doctors told them that they had to take him to the morgue, kairi hugged him one last time.

"Happy anniversary." Kairi kissed his forehead and walked out of the room. That was the last time he ever saw the boy he loves the most.
