It was the weekend. I had gotten permission from the school to spend it at home. Katsuki had one of his classes so we wouldn't hang out. My second option was to hang out with Takuma, it had been a while since we talked in person although we talked every day through the phone or text.
When I called him, I was disappointed to find out he couldn't make it. He ranted to me for what felt like hours about how he had to go with his dad was dragging him and Yoshiki to meet their dad's new girlfriend.
It wasn't long until he had to leave to go get ready. They were supposed to have a casual dinner with her family later, and his dad wanted to get them gifts.
I sighed and got up from my bed. The current time was 12:00 PM. I had 6 hours until I had to go out with my mom. She said that we'd be going out to eat since it was the first time I had been home in a while.
My sisters were coming too, even though I begged my mom to leave them behind. I had no idea where Takuma was going out to eat, but it was at the same time, hopefully, we would go to the same place and then meet up.
Since there was nothing better to do, I was able to go for a run. I quickly ran to my closet and pulled out a pair of workout clothes. It was a sports bra and spandex, a bit revealing, but that's the best I could do.
After I moved Into the dorms, there wasn't a lot left in my room. My mom said that since I wouldn't be staying at home, for the most part, someone else could stay there. I could only assume she meant when my grandparents came to visit.
I put on my running shoes and stepped onto the pavement. I had five hours left since I spent most of the procrastinating. For a moment, I just stood and stared. This house, this block, this whole town was filled with memories.
I looked to the lawn, that's where Katsuki and I used to lay and look at the stars, the road where we ran, to be completely honest, most of my memories were with him. I would be lying to myself if I said I didn't feel at least a bit of feeling for him.
I shook my head and began to run, this was not the time to procrastinate. The road felt good against my feet, just like it used to. The plan was to run the usual two miles, but I felt like a little more wouldn't hurt.
My running playlist started to play and a smile fell on my face. The time came to turn to my usual route, but instead, I turned into the park. There was a loop trail in the woods used for the public schools cross country kids, so it should be a decent length.
Time skip,
I sat on my knees panting. The run was a lot longer than expected, about seven miles. I was surprised that I managed to get in down in an hour. I was currently at the gym to do some light weight lifting.
Time skip,
I ran home after a stretch and some lifting. It was 3:00 so I had three more until I had to go to dinner. I walked through the door and slipped my shoes off before running up to my room.
I quickly slipped off my clothes and grabbed a fresh pair before jumping into a very hot shower. The glass quickly clouded and It wasn't long before I finished, or so I thought.
I picked my phone after wrapping my hair in a towel. It was 4:02, meaning I spent a whole hour in the shower. That didn't bother me so I opened my laptop and started to type away, looking for some new Netflix suggestions.
Time skip
I sat in the car with my mom and sisters. We were going to a diner, the same one where we met the Bakugo's. My mom said that we would be meeting one of her friends that she met through a co-worker.
We got to the restaurant after a while. She led us in and looked for a table. Not long after we seated ourselves, I heard someone call my name. Takuma stood in the door waving.
Before I could respond, Mr. Skikikawa walked over to our table. "Edith, Lia, (y/n), I'd like you to meet Akio, my new boyfriend," She said with a smile. My face went pale, so did Takuma's.
Flashback (On the phone, one month back)
Mom: (y/n), I would like to speak to you about a very serious matter
you: Yeah, what is it?
Mom: I would like to start dating again, I found a nice man, and I would just like to ask if you are okay with it?
You: yeah, it's fine.
"what's wrong?" my mom asked, "um, nothing," I spoke while looking down. The Shikikawas sat down at the table, Takuma right next to me. "I have to use the restroom," I announced, "So do I," Takuma said.
We both stood up and ran to the direction of the bathrooms. "Did you know?" I hissed at him, "No, did you?" he said back, I shook my head. I knew my mom wanted to start dating, but this was surprising.
We took a moment to calm down and headed back to the table. "Is everything alright?" Mr. Shikikawa asked. We both shook our heads yes and stayed silent.
"Akio explained the situation, I had no idea you were friends," My mother said. we both said it was fine, and began to talk as a group. The waiter arrived, and the food arrived quickly.
Things began to calm down, and It seemed like everyone got along fine. It was a bit of a shock at first, Edith and Lia both knew that we were meeting moms new boyfriend, I was the only one left in the dark.
I was just glad that it was Akio and not some drug dealer, it would be a shame if my mom got her heartbroken, but I could already tell that they loved each other.
It was nice seeing my mom and Akio together. I just wished I could have a relationship like that. Since things were going well, we decided to take a walk in the park together.
Takuma and I raced ahead with Yoshiki following close behind, Edith and Lia following close behind. Both of our parents were staying behind. It was weird, but this, it made me feel whole like I had a complete family.
Although it was still early, our parents were talking about moving in together. The Shikikawa's would still keep their arcade, and their house, but they wouldn't live in it permanently.
Tonight they'd be trying it out for the first time. Yoshiki would sleep in the guest room and Takuma and I would have a sleepover. Once we all arrived at my house, we set up an air mattress for Takuma, and we sat down to watch a movie.
It may have been too early to tell, but we were starting to feel like a real family.

A/N: I hope you like this chapter. I just thought of this part last week and I matches up perfectly with my original plans. Thank you so much for 2K reads. I know that I have already mentioned this but I'm so grateful for this and was defiantly not expecting this many reads. I will be able to post more by next month most likely because I will be getting a new laptop or my old one will be fixed.
