(So after this chapter, some things might start getting pieced together a little more. I've been building onto the plot throughout the entire story... hopefully, I've done a decent job haha. Anyway, enjoy!~)

---(Y/n)'s Pov---

It was midday when a certain skeleton, perfectly dressed in his dark purple suit approached me. He had an uncertain grin woven into his features, but seemed ready all the same. I took no time in springing up from the crate that I was sitting on, fixing my skeleton mask that hid my identity in the process. *Are you ready?*

"Yep... lead the way." Sans responded with his eyes narrowed. He didn't bring his brother for this mission since I specified not to. As much as I love Papy, he would get easily distracted by these harsher Humans.

Looking around at the buildings and structures around us, I noticed that a gentle layer of snow lingered on top of them. It had been awhile since I've been outside... I missed this cold white fluff.

After a good ten minutes, we came across a massive building, still in use. It looked like a hotel, but we both knew better. *Do you think that you can bring us to the roof?*

In the corner of my eye, I noticed someone staring at us with an almost exhausted expression... one that was filled with minor surprise. It was that damned agent. His investigator was also probably lurking around already. "No problem."

Before I could comment on the two that seemed to also be here, Sans teleported us to the roof. I looked around anxiously before approaching a door that would lead us further inside. It had a lock, but I made quick work of it. *That agent is here. I saw him, so be cautious.*

Sans nodded, deciding to switch to a more silent approach as he pulled out his gun just in case. His eyes stared down the seemingly endless pit of stairs, wondering if there was, in fact, a bottom. The weight of my bag made me feel a little uncomfortable, but it wasn't a big deal.

I made sure to keep him close behind me, and his footsteps didn't make the loud clicking noises that I was already familiar with... he had an entirely different personality. "Hey..."

His words were barely a whisper, but I caught them and came to an immediate stop just before reaching a level to this stairwell. "I recently learned that Humans can be very different. Was wonderin'... Why did ya help us back then?"

Was this really the time for questions? Or... was he seeing some kind of different side to Humans after meeting me, as Grillby's assistant? *I'm not exactly attracted to money or power. And even though you might dislike me- you aren't terrible at heart. You're caring to everyone, in your own way... and I suppose that I admire that about you, and about all Monsters. Even though it may not seem like it, I am very happy... to have met someone like you.*

Sans flinched, his grin showing an unreadable expression.

As I opened a door that would lead further onto the floor that we stopped on, Sans shifted with uncertainty. "Do ya know a gal... named...-"

But before he could finish asking me that question, I quickly pulled away from the door with minor urgency. It closed gently which hid our presence well enough, but I was still fairly worried. *It's Mr. Snap. Listen, we should split up... I am going to personally handle this floor, see if I cannot keep him here. You go down to the sixth floor, they apparently hold a lot of information there.*

He nodded in my direction, turning around to start descending the stairs once again. Reaching out, I grabbed his sleeve in a gentle grip that just made him seem so confused. *Be careful, Sans.*
