I really like the song above. It inspired me to make this Sodapop imagine. You can play it while reading if you like :)

The school bell rang. Students poured out of the building.
You stepped out and looked at the sky filled with grey clouds. It looked like it was going to rain later. You walked down the stairs, weaving around the crowds of students.
In the corner of your eye, you saw Ponyboy with Sodapop. Soda was your best friend.
He was wearing his DX shirt and cap. He just left work.
You walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. He spun around and when he saw you, his face lit up like a flashlight.
"Hey, Y/N!" He said happily, "How was school?"
"Nothing much," You shrugged, "What about work? Anything new?"
"Nah, just the same." He replied.
You both looked at each other and smiled. Pony loudly cleared his throat.
You both looked at him.
"You know," Pony said, "I can go home and you two can be alone together."
"But you can't walk alone." Soda said.
"I'll ask Two-Bit to come with me," Pony refused, "It's Friday. You guys should do something fun together."
You both looked at each other and smiled.
"Sounds great. Thanks Pony." Soda said, ruffling Pony's hair.
Pony walked away and disappeared in the crowd of students.
"So, what do you feel like doing?" Soda asked, putting his hands in his pockets.
You thought for a moment.
"Drag race? We can go with Steve if you want." You suggested.
"Steve can't come, he's working overtime. Yeah, drag race sounds fun." He agreed.
You both headed to the drag race. You two were having lots of fun. You guys stayed there for a while. Soda's stomach started to growl, yours too. You both decided to go get some fries and a coke. It was a fun day, you didn't want it to end.
It was now getting late. You and Soda were walking back home.
"Man, that was fun." Soda sighed.
You nodded your head. You felt both your hands graze each other. You both looked at each other and blushed. You both moved away a little from each other.
You felt a small drop on your head, then another. You looked up and it was starting to sprinkle. Soda looked up too. Then more droplets started coming down. It was pouring now. You ran under the tree for shelter and you covered yourself with your arms.
Soda just stood there, looking at the sky as rain drops poured on him.
"Soda! Get out of there! You're going to catch a cold!" You called out to him.
He didn't listen to you. He was looking up, smiling. You were confused.
He finally looked at you. He reached his hand out to you.
"Come here, I want to try something with you." Soda said.
You were reluctant at first but then you stepped out in the rain. It was cold.
You reached him, shivering and wet.
"What now?" You asked.
He started to jump and dance in the rain. He was splashing in the puddles and cheering.
You were confused, what was he doing?
"Come on! Try it!" He said, laughing.
He looked like he was having so much fun. He was completely soaked but he didn't mind. He had a wide smile that stretched across his face. He played and danced happily. He looked like a little kid.
You smiled and joined. Both of you were jumping around and spinning under the rain. You guys playfully kicked water and chased each other. Your laughter and shouting echoed throughout the empty street.
While you were dancing, Soda looked at you. You were having the time of your life. You looked so bright and beautiful. Soda loved watching you.
You caught him staring at you. You walked towards him, breathing hard and smiling.
"What is it?" You asked.
Soda ignored you. He kept staring at your face. He slowly walked closer to you. Both your faces became serious. He put his hands on your waist. Both your eyes met. He pulled you closer to him and he kissed you.
You both closed your eyes. The sound of the rain faded away. It was like only you two existed. You guys kissed slow and softly. You rest your hands on his chest as his arms wrapped around your lower back.
You both slowly pulled away. Rain was still pouring on both of you, but you didn't care.
You both smiled at each other.
"In a movie, I saw a guy and a girl dancing in the rain and then they shared a kiss. I've always wanted to try that with you." Soda said, softly.
"So that's why you stayed in the rain and called me over." You chuckled.
Soda nodded and bit his lip.
"I've liked you for a long time now, Y/N. But I was just too scared to say it," Soda said, "Will you be my girl, Y/N?"
You smiled at him, ear to ear.
"Yes!" You said, happily.
You both shared another kiss as raindrops slowly faded away and the sun parted through the clouds.
