(This is when you guys are like 16)
You stood in front of your mirror, doing the last touches of your hair.
All done. You thought to yourself as you smiled. You wore a dress that Pony, your boyfriend, gave to you on your birthday. It was simple but cute.
Today was your second anniversary with Pony. Your love was still strong for one another.
This year, Pony said that he will make this anniversary better than the last. Pony took you to the movies for your first anniversary, you bought him some books that he always wanted.
This time, You and Pony are going to have a nice dinner, made by him, at his house (he can't afford to go to those nice restaurants and besides, Darry won't let him).
He said that he was going to make it the best night ever. You believed him.
You heard a knock on your door. You saw that through the window was Pony on your porch and Darry and Soda in the car.
"Hi, Pony." You said as you opened the door, "Happy anniversary!"
You both kissed passionately and he pulled away to speak.
"Happy anniversary, Y/N." He said. Then he scanned your outfit, "Hey, you're wearing that dress I gave you."
"I like it." You giggled as you gave a twirl. You saw that he wore jeans with a nice top, "I like your outfit, is it new?"
"It's actually Soda's. He gave me it to me just for today. Said I would be caught dead if I ruin this."
You giggled at him.
It was a little bit big on him but it looked nice.
Pony took you by the arm and walked you to the car. He opened the door for you and helped you in.
"Hey, Y/N!" Soda greeted you from the front seat. Darry gave a smile and a wave.
"Hi, guys!" You said, "Y'all heading somewhere?"
"Yeah." Soda said, "All of us are going to the drag race. Now you two can be alone together."
"Hey." Darry said sternly, "Don't be pulling any funny business while we're out okay? Not in our house."
You and Pony turned red and looked away.
They dropped both of you at there house and drove off to pick up the rest of the gang.
"So," You said, "What do have planned?"
"Close your eyes." He told you. You did as he said.
He waved his hand over your face to see if you were secretly peeking, you weren't.
Pony smiled and took you by the hand.
"Just make sure I don't bump into anything." You said.
"Why would I do that?" He said.
You tripped on the stairs to the house. You let out a yelp as you started to fall to the ground. Luckily, Pony caught you last minute.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" He said frantically, "Man, I don't ever use my head."
You couldn't help but laugh at him.
You closed your eyes again and he lead you inside the house.
"Wait here, no peeking yet." He said as you heard his footsteps disappear.
You heard a record starting to play. It played classical, romantic music. You started to smile.
"Now can I open them?" You asked impatiently.
"Yes." He responded.
You opened your eyes to a fancy, dinner spread on the table. There were two plates there for you and Pony. There were candles lit and roses everywhere. The music in the background enhanced the mood. Plus, there were tons of gifts in the corner just for you.
"Oh-wha-how-Pony?" You kept stammering out in surprise.
"You like it?" He asked, scratching his head and blushing.
"I love it!" You squealed as you threw your arms around him.
"Told you this was going to be the best anniversary." He smirked.
"How did you do this Pony?"
"I asked Darry and Soda for help and they did. Darry gave me a budget on how much I could spend. Soda helped decorate and Darry also helped me cook. We made all these dishes from a cooking book I bought for this occasion. I also got the gifts for you."
"You are the best." You said as you pulled him in for a kiss.
Then you sighed in disappointment.
"I only got you these stuff." You said as you pulled out a few gifts from your bag. "They're nowhere near compared to this."
He pecked you on the lips.
"Just you being here is the best gift in the world." He whispered, "So, shall we eat?"
"Yes, we shall." You chuckled.
You both started to walk towards the table. Suddenly, Pony tripped on his foot, causing him to lose his balance and fall forward.
"Woah!" He cried out as he accidentally grabbed onto you, making you fall too.
Pony fell on the table which made it break. All the food came tumbling down on the floor and on both of you, but mostly you.
Loud crashing and thuds filling the house, maybe the neighbors heard it.
"Holy shit!" Pony cried out at you, "I-I'm sorry!"
You were covered head to toe in food. The chocolate cake Darry made for both of you was on your head like a hat. Your cute dress that Pony bought was now stained and ruined.
"Um..." You started to say as you looked around.
Pony looked at all the broken glass scattered on the floor. He gasped.
"Wait! Y/N, are you hurt?" He asked worriedly as he swept you off the ground bridal style while checking your body to see if you got cut by the glass.
"Pony, I'm fine." You calmly reassured him, "You can put me down now."
He did as you said. Then you smelled something burning, Pony did too. You both looked back and saw that the fallen candles lit the tablecloth and your dress on fire. You both screamed.
You took off your dress off and put it under the sink. Pony stomped out the fire on the tablecloth. Both of you looked at the once romantic dinner now in ruins.
You were both silent. Pony ran his fingers through his hair.
"I'm sorry." Pony mumbled. You saw that he had tears forming in his eyes, "I'm such an idiot. All this hard work, gone. The happy day, gone. Now you're probably miserable. This is the worst anniversary ever."
You started to snicker, then laugh. Pony looked at you with confusion.
"No! No!" You said through your laughs, "This was great, really. That was exciting! Hey, at least you didn't take me to a pawn shop or something worse. I'm thankful, Pony. You set this up for me. That shows how caring and loving my boyfriend is for me, I couldn't be happier."
Pony smiled and kissed you.
"Wait." He said pulling away from this kiss, "Let's get you cleaned and changed, you look like a potluck."
"What about you?" You asked as you pointed at his shirt stained with chocolate and drinks.
Pony's eyes widened.
"Oh no." He said, "This was Soda's! He's gonna kill me!"
"Come on." You giggled as you lead him to the shower to clean.
Pony gave you a clean shirt of his, it looked like a dress on you.
You both cleaned up the mess before they came home then cuddled on the couch, watching t.v.
"We're back!" Darry called as he walked through the door.
The whole gang filed in too.
"What's that smell?" Soda said as he sniffed the air, "Smells burnt..."
"What did you guys do?" Darry asked in suspicion.
"I...uh." Pony mumbled.
You told everyone everything that happened. The gang roared with laughter and teased Pony, except Darry and Soda.
Both their faces drained color after hearing what happened.
"At least you guys are safe." Darry sighed.
"Sorry for that epic fail." Pony whispered in your ear, "I'll make it up next year with an even better surprise."
"I think I should take the next one." You said.
"Yeah, that sounds good." Pony shrugged.
You both laughed and cuddled closer, watching t.v. with the gang.
