This is when you two are a few years older now.

Steve's POV

Today was Halloween. In my opinion, one of the best times of the year. My girl, Y/N, said she had planned a big surprise for me. Surprises and Halloween? Two of some of my favorite things? How could this day get any better?
Me and Y/N walked side by side down the street to the Curtis house. It was sunset, enough time to get ready.
I had my costume in my bag. Soda and I wanted to dress up as zombies, sounds kinda lame but the costumes are pretty good. And Y/N will help with the makeup.
I wanted to do a couple costume with Y/N but she said she's already planned her costume last week. I asked her what it was and said that was the surprise. I was excited to see her costume.
Anyways, we reached the Curtis house and walked inside. Everyone was getting ready and just about done putting on their costumes.
Pony dressed as Paul Newman of course. Darry was dressed as a hunter. Dallas was a killer and smeared ketchup all over a shirt to make it look like blood. Johnny was werewolf. He was going for scary but instead he looked adorable in it. Two was dressed something other than Mickey for once, it was Goofy. Soda had his zombie costume on but no makeup yet.
"Finally you two are here!" Soda got up off the couch, "Steve! Put on your costume! You have the makeup, right Y/N?"
"Yep!" Y/N said, taking out the makeup, "Go get dressed, Steve."
I quickly put on my costume. The shirt was purposely ripped up, showing my muscles. Perfect.
I came out of the bathroom and saw that Y/N had already finished Soda's makeup. Soda looked happily at himself at the mirror and made scary faces, laughing at himself from time to time.
"Your turn, Big Boy." Y/N giggled.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled. I sat patiently in the chair as Y/N put the makeup on. Damn, she was good at it.
I looked at myself in the mirror along with Soda. She did a great job.
"Alright." She got up, "My turn."
I gasped because I was finally going to see her costume, the surprise. Many possible costumes kept popping into my mind. A funny one? And inside joke? A scary one? Or...a sexy one.
I started turning red, Y/N laughed when she saw my face.
"Sorry to disappoint, but not that kind of costume." She giggled.
I sighed a bit but I was also relieved. The whole gang was here and I didn't want her to be seen in that kind of costume. She was mine and mine alone.
She walked into the bathroom with her bag. Everyone was already dressed so we all sat and waited in the living room. I was so impatient that I couldn't even sit still.
Finally, I heard the bathroom door open after a few minutes. Everyone looked towards the hallway.
"Close your eyes!" Y/N called out, sensing that we were all looking at the hallway, "Especially you Steve!"
I sighed impatiently and closed my eyes tightly. I heard her footsteps come closer.
"Now can I open them?" I asked.
"Yes." She said.
I opened my eyes to finally see her costume, it puzzled me. She was dressed as...an oven?
A hint of disappointment coursed through me.
Then I examined her costume more.
There was a loaf of bread in the window. It was down on her lower belly.
I still sat there with utter confusion.
One by one, the rest of the gang started to gasp and jolt up.
Two started squealing so high that the glass in the windows could break.
"No way!" Soda exclaimed, cupping his mouth.
"Are you joking, Y/N?" Pony asked.
"What? I don't get it!" I scratched my head. Even Pony got it? He don't even use his head unless it's movies and books.
"Steve!" Y/N giggled.
"What?" I asked again.
"I am an oven." She explained, "There is a bun inside. A bun in the oven."
I sat there thinking for a bit until it finally hit me. My jaw dropped and my eyes became wide.
"Y-You're...pregnant?" I managed to get out.
Y/N smiled and her eyes started to well up with tears.
A few months ago, I told her that I was thinking about having a child. We've known each other ever since elementary and dated since the beginning of high school. Plus, we weren't crazy teenagers anymore. We were young adults now. I even earn more money.
I didn't care that we weren't married. We didn't need it. We loved each other and we didn't need marriage to prove it.
I didn't want to push it onto her but I mentioned it once or twice. She told me she wanted to have one too but was scared about the whole pregnancy and raising process. I was completely fine with it.
Now, she's happily revealing that we're going to have a baby. It felt like a dream.
"You're pregnant?" I asked again with more exclamation.
"Yes!" She sobbed happily.
She lifted up her costume a bit to reveal her stomach. There was a small bump, not big but it was somewhat noticeable.
The gang cheered and looked at her belly in surprise.
"I kept it a secret for a while until Halloween for you." She explained.
I then swept her off the ground and twirled her in my arms while whooping.
"I'm gonna be a dad!" I shouted.
The gang cheered along with me and danced around us that night.
~
It was almost 3 am. We all huddled together in the living room watching Halloween cartoons until we slept. We had a fun day on the streets and partied.
Y/N cuddled next to me under the blanket on the couch. I put my hand on her belly and rubbed it softly.
"Hey, Y/N?" I whispered.
"Yes?" She responded groggily.
"Do you think...I'll be a good father?"
"Of course, why?"
"I'm kinda scared too. Like I'm gonna mess up. And I want to be with that kid all it's life, be a dad that I never had. But I don't know if I can."
"Steve, you are the loyal, protective greaser I fell in love with. You act tough but really, you're so caring. You will be a great father, I know it."
"Thanks."
She put her hand on mine that still rested on her belly.
"Happy Halloween, Babe." She giggled, "You liked the surprise?"
"The best surprise ever." I chuckled, "A happy Halloween indeed."
We held hands as we drifted off to sleep.
~
"Happy Halloween!" Y/N cheered.
She swept up our healthy, little toddler off the chair who was decorating Halloween crafts.
I smiled at our boy, Jack. We had named him Jack after Jack-o-lanterns. Because of the first day I found out she was pregnant wink wink.
He had some of my features. Dark, wavy hair and my smile. The rest was Y/N's features. Parenting was hard at times but it was actually fun playing with him, like being an innocent kid all over again. Well, I'm always kid at heart but I was never innocent.
"Are we going to Uncles'?" Jack asked me, tugging on my shirt.
"Yep!" I replied. I carried him up onto my shoulders and jogged around the house. He laughed the entire time.
"Uncle Soda, uncle Johnny, uncle Dally..." I listed everyone in the gang.
"Uncle Soda!" Jack cheered.
"Do you like Uncle Soda or me more?"
"Uncle Soda!"
"Aw man!"
Y/N laughed from the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and set Jack down. I couldn't get mad at him, Soda was always a favorite with everyone.
Y/N walked over to us with some bags.
"And why were you laughing at me, little lady?" I growled at her.
She squealed as I pounced on her then kissed her.
"Ew." Jack said.
We both pulled away and chuckled.
"Okay, everyone ready?" Y/N asked.
"Yeah, we're all set." I gave her a thumbs up.
"Alright, let's go!"
We walked out the door and to the Curtis house for yet another fun Halloween night.
