You were in your kitchen, getting out bowls, spoons, and ingredients. You were making chocolate cake to bring to the Curtis house today. Everyone was planning to have a party there and you volunteered to bring cake.
You got out your best recipe, ready to start as you tightened the strings on your cooking apron.
All of a sudden, you heard a knock on your door. You peeked through the blinds to see who it was.
It was your boyfriend, Steve Randle. He was wearing his DX jacket and cap. He just came back from work.
"What brings you here, Steve?" You said as you opened the door. You cocked an eyebrow and smirked, knowing exactly what he was going to say.
"You were makin' chocolate cake for the party so I thought I'd stop by and be your taste tester. By the way, cute apron. You look hot as hell in that." He said, leaning against the wall and looking up and down your outfit.
You giggled and let him come in.
"No, no, no, You're gonna help me make it." You said, pushing him to the kitchen.
"Oh, no way! I don't know how to bake." He said, shaking his head.
You kissed him to shut him up.
"Don't worry. I'll help you." You said.
"Okay." He sighed, "So, what do we do first?"
You helped him measure and whisk the dry ingredients.
Then you moved onto the wet ingredients. Steve was amazed by the ingredients that were in the cake.
Then you took out the sour cream and told him to mix it in.
"Wait, sour cream?" He said, confused, "This won't make the cake taste good!"
"Trust me. It makes it better." You said in serious tone.
He knew you weren't kidding so he did what you said.
When you put the batter in the oven, Steve was watching the cakes bake the entire time. He sat in front of the oven and stared at them. He looked like a child.
You laughed and sat next to him.
After the cakes were done, the smell of chocolate filled the entire house.
Steve couldn't take his eyes off the cakes. You heard his stomach growl.
"We're not finished yet. Don't worry, you get to have some later. Good things come to those who wait." You chuckled as you flipped the cakes out of the pans.
"Good things come to those who shove it in their mouths." He said, trying to reach for the cakes.
You slapped his hand and he whined.
Now you guys made the chocolate frosting. Steve was trying to decorate but he got frosting everywhere. Occasionally he would eat the frosting and you had to scold him for doing so.
The cake was finally done. You congratulated Steve on making his first cake.
Suddenly, you had an idea.
"Hey, Steve." You said.
He spun around and you put frosting on his entire nose. You giggled at him. He wiped it off and smirked, licking the frosting off his fingers.
"Oh, you want to play like that, huh?" He said mischievously.
He swiped three fingers in the bowl, getting a lot of frosting, and chased you around the kitchen.
He finally caught you and smeared it all over your face. You both started to laugh.
It escalated into a frosting fight. Soon, both of your bodies were covered in chocolate frosting.
You guys got yourselves cleaned and changed before leaving for the party.
You were wiping the frosting off your face with a towel.
"Hey, Y/N. You missed a spot." He said, pointing at you.
"Where?" You asked, rubbing your face.
He pulled you in by your waist and kissed your lips passionately.
"I got it for you." He said, licking his lips.
You couldn't help but blush.
Steve packed the cake into a container and you both walked to the Curtis household.
You opened the door and everyone was already there.
The T.V. was on. Food was laid out on the table. There were cigars and beer scattered throughout the room. Everyone was playing cards on the floor.
Everyone's attention turned to both of you.
"Hey Steve! Hey Y/N!" Soda said happily. Then he gasped, "Cake!"
Everyone got up to get some cake.
You took it out and they awed at the masterpiece.
You started to cut it into pieces and everyone lined up to each get a slice.
"Wow this cake is even better than Darry's!"
Pony said with a mouth full.
"Hate to say it but it's true. This is the best damn cake I've ever had." Darry agreed.
"Steve and I made it earlier." You said.
"Wow, Steve actually made something good for once." Two-Bit joked.
"Yes, I did. Can ya? Oh wait, ya can't." Steve said back at him.
Steve and Two-Bit went back and forth but everyone ignored them.
Johnny took a bite from his slice. His face lit up.
"Woah, this is really good." He said, taking another bite.
"Yeah, what's the secret?" Soda asked.
"I added sour cream to it. It makes it richer." You said.
"Sour cream?" Everyone asked in unison.
"I know, that was my reaction. Never thought it would make it really good, but it did." Steve said.
He had already finished his slice and now he was getting seconds.
Dally was looking at the cake. He was confused.
You couldn't help but laugh at everyone's reaction when you said sour cream.
Everyone finished the cake in just five minutes.
"The cake was a big hit." Steve said, hugging you from behind.
"All thanks to you for helping me, Steve." You smiled.
You both kissed each other and went back to party with the gang.
