You were on your way to see your best friend, Ponyboy Curtis. It was summertime and you guys had nothing better to do. Both of you decided to visit each other everyday and read a novel out loud. Taking turns every page.
Pony wanted to choose the novel. He chose a romance one. It was strange because Pony wasn't interested in romance. But, you thought he was just trying something new.
You opened the door and Darry was reading the newspaper.
He looked up and smiled.
"Hey, Y/N. Pony's in his room." He said.
"Thanks, Darry." You said, walking to the bedroom.
You reached the doorway and saw that Pony was lying on his bed with the novel on his chest.
"Hey, Pony." You said.
He got up and his face lit up.
"Hey, ready to read?" He asked.
You nodded then sat in bed next to him. You both shared the same book so you were really close to each other.
You guys were already more than halfway through the book. All the good stuff was happening.
"Gale looked into his eyes and walked closer," You read, "She tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled.
"So, why did you want to meet me here?" She asked him.
Tyler took a deep breath. He took Gale's hands into his. He squeezed them a little and looked at her face."
You guys flipped the page. Now it was Pony's turn to read.
"Tyler was ready," Pony read, "He was nervous before, but now he felt like he had the courage to tell her.
"Gale, I've known you all my life. You've been there for me through the thick and thin. I wanted you to come here because I want to be more than just friends. I want to live with you. I want to start a family with you. I want to do everything with you because...""
Pony stopped reading. You were watching him the entire time. It wasn't like he was reading it off the book, it was like he was really saying those things to you. Was he?
He looked at your eyes and smiled. It made your heart melt.
He continued the sentence.
"I love you." He said, softly.
Your heart started to flutter. You couldn't believe what happened.
Both your eyes locked. You both slowly leaned a little closer. The book slipped out from your hands and onto the floor. Both of you slowly went closer, your eyes closing.
Then both your lips touched. You kissed each other passionately. His warm lips were softly pressed against yours.
Pony found your hand and wove his fingers into yours. You cupped his cheek with your other hand.
You both slowly pulled away from a kiss that seemed to last forever.
"So that's why you wanted to read a romance novel with me." You said, smirking.
Pony nodded.
"Will you be my girl, Y/N?" He asked you.
"Yes, I'd love to be your girl, Pony." You said as you pulled him in for another kiss.
You both finished the book. You couldn't really concentrate though because of what happened. It was now getting late.
Darry and Soda were watching T.V.
"Hi Y/N, hi Pony," Soda said waving to us, "What did y'all do?"
You and Pony looked at each other. Then you both looked away, blushing.
"Oh, nothing. Just finished reading a book." You replied.
"I hope so." Darry smiled.
Both of you started to turn even more red. You decided to go home.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow then?" You asked, clearing your throat.
"Uh, yeah. See you tomorrow." Pony said nervously, scratching the back of his head.
You said goodbye to Darry and Soda and left.
"She's a good girl, Pony. You won't find a good one like her anywhere else." Darry said.
Pony nodded and was still looking at the door.
"She's a one in a million." Pony sighed.
"So," Soda smirked, "I'm guessing you guys didn't just finish a book."
"Shut up." Pony said to Soda, blushing.
Soda laughed and ruffled Pony's hair.
"I can't believe my kid brother became a man." He joked.
Pony laughed and looked back at the door. He smiled and walked to his room. He was excited to see you tomorrow.
