When I was younger, my Lola said it would be nice to study in Juilliard. She would always tell me that it's a great opportunity and I would learn a lot of things there.
Simula noon, pinangarap ko talaga na makapag-aral doon.
Abot kamay ko na ngayon. Oo ko na lang ang kulang.
"Pakiramdam ko, sobrang haba ng araw na 'to," sabi ko kay Eve noong maglalapit kami para sa picture. We just finished our meal and we are now just talking.
May itinuro si Eve roon sa stuff tungkol sa paano gamitin iyong camera. Kanina ko lang din kasi nahalungkat na may pinadala naman palang camera iyong mga pinsan niya. Dalawa pa nga, e. Film cam at polaroid.
The birthday boy was confused which one to use. I just told him that we should just use both.
"Siguro best birthday ever mo na 'to," I concluded when he sat beside me.
"Yeah. Best birthday it is," he chuckled and let his arms rest in my waist.
I kept my hands with me while taking the picture. I smiled so wide because of the happiness that I've never felt before.
"Ito po, Sir," inabot sa amin iyong mga polaroid.
Eve accepted it and then he gave it to me. Tinanggap niya iyong polaroid camera bago iyong film cam naman ang ibinigay.
I was busy shaking the pics and looking at them. Medyo na-highlight ang aking medyo morena skin dahil sa suot kong white maxi dress.
"Sienna, smile." Tinapik ni Eve nang bahagya ang likod ko dahil magpi-picture na pala, nakatingin pa ako sa polaroids.
Hinapit ako ni Eve papalapit sa kaniya bago ngumiti sa camera. We took a lot of pictures even though it's kinda dark already. Nagpasalamat kami sa staff pagkatapos at tumayo na.
Napagdesisyunan namin na maglakad lakad muna sa may tabing dagat. Iniwan namin sa may gilid doon ang mga footwear namin dahil sabi niya, mas masarap maglakad sa buhangin kapag nakayapak.
I was still looking at the polaroids because we both look good. Naka-puti akong maxi dress habang siya naman ay naka-puting dress shirt na short sleeve. He opened the first three buttons that made him look more hotter. He partnered it with a khaki shorts. Nag-ayos din naman ako nang kaunti. Naglagay ako ng kaunting lipstick at isinuot ko iyong kaunting accessories na pinadala ni Lizette. Just a few bracelets and an anklet.
"Eve..." tawag ko at ibinaba ang polaroid.
"Hmm?"
He was looking at the sea. Tuwang-tuwa siya kapag tumatama iyong tubig sa paa niya. Tapos medyo lulubog ang paa niya dahil nadadala iyong buhangin.
"What would you say if I told you that I got a scholarship?" panimula ko.
He turned to me with excitement in his eyes.
"That's good! Congratulations! Where?" binunggo ng balikat niya ang balikat ko.
Natawa ako.
"Juilliard," I said and looked at him to check if he was still happy.
I hope he's positive. Hindi ko kasi alam kung mababago ba ang desisyon kong tanggapin iyon kapag umayaw siya. It's my dream school we're talking about. Juilliard.
"Wow. That's a good school. Tanggapin mo," he wiggled his brows.
"Why? You don't like it?" tanong niya nang hindi ako umimik. "I thought it was your dream school."
"Gusto," ngumuso ako at tiningnan na lang ulit ang picture namin.
"Bakit ganiyan itsura mo?" he snatched the polaroids away from me and hid it in his pockets. "Sa 'kin ka tumingin, nag-uusap tayo."
