"Attention class." Mr. Aizawa said. "We have a new student." I walked into the room and through my feet I could see everyone staring at me. "Would you like to introduce yourself?"
"Hello my name is y/n. And I'm blind." I said and waved while I lightly tapped my foot and I could see everyone's faces became surprised. Which wasn't unexpected. "My quirk is called Earthbending. And much like the name suggests I can bend the earth." (You are literally Toph)
As I tapped my foot I could see that someone raised their hand. I pointed in their direction.
"Yes?" I asked, and I couldn't help but smile when they jumped.
"Wait how did you know I raised my hand?" They asked. He sounded more like a little kid.
"I use my quirk in order to see." I said, and walked forward down one of the aisles. "Every time I take a step a map forms in my head and I use it to navigate my surroundings." I walked back up to the front of the class using a different ailse. "And when I stand still I tap my foot in order to keep the map updated. It's kind of like a stop go"
"Is that why you're barefoot?" Someone asked, it was a girl this time. But I couldn't tell where they had asked from other than on the other side of the room.
"Yes." I said. "I can't see with shoes on."
"How did this idiot even get into the hero course?" I heard someone whisper towards the back of the class.
"Thank you, y/n." Mr. Aizawa said. "You will be sitting next to Bakugo, Bakugo raise your hand" I continued to tap my foot for a moment before a boy raised his hand. And surprise, surprise, it was the boy who said something.
When I sat down I continued to tap my foot lightly on the floor. I leaned towards him, and I could see that he flinched.
"You know, I've been blind my whole life." I told him. "And my hearing is much better than my vision." I smiled at him before sitting back up in my seat and listening to class.
"Bakugo I'm going to ask that you help y/n with some of the learning." Mr. Aizawa said. "I'm trusting her in all of your care, but specifically you Bakugo. Help her with anything else she might need, whether it's being guided or whatever else."
"Wait why me?" Bakugo asked, and it was the boy that I just talked to.
"She's very smart, but due to her being blind she can't read or see what's happening." Mr. Aizawa told him. "All I ask is that you make sure she understands the materials, and she doesn't trip on something on the sidewalk."
"Ugh, fine." Bakugo said, and the bell rang. I stood up from my seat.
"Bakugo?" I asked before he could walk away.
"What do you want?" He asked, he sounded incredibly irritated.
"Would you mind walking me to my room?" I asked him. "I haven't been to the dorms, and don't know my way around yet."
"Yeah, whatever." He said and I followed him out of the classroom. We walked in silence, and with every step I could see his face was looking in my direction. Even though I couldn't see him I could feel his eyes on me.
"See something you like?" I asked him.
"How'd you know I was looking at you?" He questioned me and I smiled.
"I can see your outline." I told him. "Your face was in my direction a bit. So I took an educated guess."
"Does that mean you can see this?" He asked and he flipped me off. I laughed and flipped him back.
"Yes I can." I told him before I grabbed his arm pulled him backwards. Just before he got ran over by a small group of kids passed us after we stepped outside.
"It's kind of hard to believe you're blind from all of this." He told me and pulled his arm back.
"Well maybe this will help." I said and stood facing him and took my glasses off. Even though I couldn't see I knew my eyes were faded white. At least that's what my mom told me, even though I don't know what white is.
My head suddenly got hit from behind and I fell to the ground.
"Hey are you okay?" Someone asked as two people came running up to us.
"I'm sorry, that was a really bad throw." The other said and I rubbed the back of my head.
"What was that?" I asked and drummed my fingers on the ground before picking up a disc. They were throwing a frisbee.
"You alright dumb ass?" Bakugo asked me and grabbed my elbow and pulled me off the ground.
"I'm fine." I said and slipped my glasses back on. "Here you go." I said and handed it back to the boys.
"Wait you're blind? That's even worse." The first guy said.
"It's okay, don't worry about it." I said. "Stuff like this happens more than you think." They apologized a couple more times before we started walking back towards the dorms.
"So you couldn't see that?" Bakugo asked and I laughed.
"Well yeah, it's in the air." I said and rubbed my head more, it had hit me pretty hard. "I saw he threw something, but I couldn't see that it was coming at me."
"Hmm." He hummed and held a door open for me.
"What?" I asked and stepped through the doorway. "Trying to figure out how to beat me in a fight already?"
"Exactly." Bakugo said and I laughed a bit more.
