I stayed still in the water, scared to move. If I moved the wrong way, I could take myself farther into the water. If I tried to swim to the surface, I could take myself deeper. And if I didn’t get out right away, I would drown. Because I was not prepared when I hit the water.
I felt a pair of hands grab me and pull me until I broke the water, and I wrapped my arms around the one that grabbed me.
“It’s okay, I’ve got you.” Bakugo whispered to me. I tightly wrapped my arms around his neck, and coughed up water over his shoulder. “You’re okay, take a deep breath.” He said and rubbed circles on my back.
I didn’t let him go, and finally got my breathing back. I felt tears pour out of my eyes, and I sniffed and tried not to lose my breathing again.
“Why did you do that?” I asked him, and he froze when he heard that I was crying.
“Because you were making such a big deal about not swimming, you sounded like an idiot.” He said and started swimming with me in his arms. “Who goes to the beach but doesn’t swim?”
“Me.” I said, and he scooped my legs up as he was finally standing in the water.
“I didn’t know you couldn’t swim.” He told me, and he carried me out of the water. He set me down on a towel and Mina instantly wrapped a towel around my shoulders.
“You’re okay.” She told me and wiped the excess water and tears off my face. I took some deep breaths and closed my eyes and calmed down.
“Where are my glasses?” I asked, and felt my face.
“I’ll buy you a new pair.” Bakugo said and I sighed. After a little while, and I really calmed down I stood up.
“Mina, will you please walk me back to the pavement?” I asked her.
“Yeah.” She said and wrapped her arms around me and guided me out of the sand. “I’m sorry he did that.”
“It’s okay.” I said and wrapped the towel around my shoulders a little tighter. I sighed in relief when my feet finally hit the pavement and I could see again.
“Do you want me to walk you back to the house?” She asked me and rubbed my arms.
“No, you go have fun.” I told her and put a smile on my face. “You go swimming, and all that. You could take pictures and show me them later.” I told her and she laughed.
“You got it.” She said and I walked away from her. I sped walked all the way back to the beach house.
“Back so soon?” I heard Mr. Aizawa asked and I was in no mood to talk.
I rushed up the stairs as fast as I could without tripping myself and went to mine and Mina’s room. I grabbed some clothes and rushed into the bathroom and took a shower, along with rinsing out Mina’s swimsuit.
When I got out, I walked back into the room and laid myself down in bed. I hugged my pillow to my chest and I finally allowed myself to have my panic attack. It had been building up all day, from the second Mina said we were going to the beach this morning.
But I was fine. It was training, I was fine.
Until he grabbed me.
There was a knock on the door, and I ignored it.
“Y/n?” Mr. Aizawa asked, and I heard him come into the room. “Is everything alright?”
“I’m fine.” I said and covered my head with my blanket.
“Really?” He asked and I felt the bed dip. “What happened?”
“I just really don’t like not being able to see.” I told him. “I understand what we were doing earlier was training, but I can’t do it in my free time.”
“Did something happen at the beach?” He asked me, and I didn’t answer him. I just curled into myself.
“I just want to sleep.” I told him.
“Alright.” He said and patted my shoulder, before leaving the room. And I covered my mouth to try and keep myself from crying out loud.
