My mother's words rang in my ears as I quickly spun Sero in front of me, and held his head to the side. I closed my eyes as I bit down on his neck, and I could feel the power that was flowing between us. The power that was giving us a bond, that I will die protecting if that's what it takes.
I opened my eyes to see my father's katana flying backwards cause of the sudden surge of power and it fell to the ground only feet from my father. Sero grabbed onto my arms and his breathing made my ears twitch.
"You disgraceful child!" He yelled, but I didn't pay him any attention as I licked at Sero's neck. I felt him shudder in my hands and laughed as I tasted his blood. Cleaning off the blood from the left side of his neck. I looked and there was a beautiful red mark on his neck.
I smiled at it and kissed it. The bite mark was completely gone and healed now, I let Sero go and he looked down at me smiling.
"You're neck." He said, and I touched where he was looking. On the left side of my neck I could feel a heated spot.
"Is there a mark?" I asked him.
"Yeah." He said.
"With a non-fox claim, there's only supposed to be one claim mark on the human." I said. "Not both of us."
"I guess I really did claim you." He laughed and I smiled.
"You disgusting child!" My father said, and I watched as he got angry.
"Go to my mother." I told Sero as I stepped in front of him. He rushed over to my mother, and she held onto his shoulders as they watched us.
I held my hand out and summoned my katana.
"How did you do that?" My father asked me, and both him and my mother were surprised.
"What are you talking about?" I asked him.
"Sweetie, you only get your katana when you find your mate." My mother said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked. "I've always had this."
"She trains with it all the time at school." Sero said, and I watched my mother smile at him before turning to me.
"You unsheath that, and I will-!" My father yelled, but I didn't let him finish.
"You'll what Dad?" I asked. "You'll disown me? You'll kill me?" I asked and laughed to myself. "Cause if you think I give a damn about what you'll do to me, you're wrong."
"I'll kill him." My father pointed at Sero, I dropped my smile and stared at him.
"Now that." I said and laughed. "If you even attempt to lay one finger on him." I said, warning him to watch what he did next. "I will not hesitate to kill you."
"That is no way to be speaking to you're father!" He told me.
"And this is no way to be speaking about my claim!" I told him right back and unsheathed my katana. It was a black steel katana with gold fiber tape wrapped around the handle.

"What's happening?" Sero ask y/n's mother.
"It's a fight for territory." She answered and the two foxes got ready to fight. "They have to fight until either one gives up, or one dies."
"They won't kill each other will they?" Sero asked, and watched as y/n and her father clashed together.
"I don't know." Mrs. L/n said and she gripped his shoulders. "But I do know my daughter won't give up on you."
"Why isn't she supposed to have her katana now?" Sero asked.
"It's when you find your forever mate, that a fox gets their katana." She answered. "But it looks like she may have found already found her mate." She winked at him with a smile. His face turned red, and he looked away from her. "I had a feeling when you two were younger that there was something between you. You were always so close."
"I ugh . . . . ." Sero said, and tried thinking of what to say.
"It's okay." She told him. "She was always protective of you when you were kids. Her protectiveness is what made me think you two were meant to be." They watched as y/n's leg got cut. Sero went to run to her but Mrs. L/n stopped him. "You can't intervene. This fight has to be between them."
"What happens if she loses?" Sero asked and she limped away from her father while still blocking his attacks.
"Then you will be killed." She answered after a moment. He flinched and looked at her. "That is what she didn't tell you."
"I'm not going to let that happen!" Y/n yelled and calmly walked forward and began swinging her katana back and forth across her body at a speed that her father struggled to keep up with as he backed up.
He tripped on something and fell to the ground, but continued to block y/n's attacks until she swung her blade so hard it knocked her father's sword out of his hand.
She held him to the ground with her sword at his throat.
"Yield." She told him.
"I won't." He told her, and she swung her sword one more time.
