There was a knock on the door that interrupted class. Well more interrupting Mr. Aizawa's nap, he woke up to go answer the door. He stepped outside and I continued reading my book.

"Y/n, can you please step outside." Mr. Aizawa said as he came back into the room. I got up and walked outside to see Pro-Hero Hawks.

"Hawks?" I questioned. Why was he asking for me?

"Hey there kid. Why don't you let me take you somewhere for lunch today?" He asked me, and I stood there completely confused.

"Why?" I asked him. "What do you want?"

"Oh I just wanted to see if you were interested in doing your work study from my agency?" He asked and leaned up against the wall on his arm.

"A work study? With you?" I asked him.

"Yeah why not?" He asked and giving me a devilish smile.

"You're only asking because I'm a bird." I said. I didn't have to ask, it was obvious that's why he was here.

"Well that is only partly true." He said eyed my smaller deep blue wings. I knew it was true, before I joined UA there wasn't much knowledge of there being another bird quirk other than Hawks. "But who better to teach and train you than another bird, kid? Show you the ropes? Teach you to fly?"

"I know how to fly." I told him.

"Really?" He asked me and got an attitude on him, dropping his smile and giving me a look. "Then why are you still settling in your cage?"

"I'm not caged." I told him.

"Great." He said, suddenly got his smile back and pushed himself off the wall. "Then meet me out front at lunch." He walked off down the hallway, and I went back into the class. Mr. Aizawa had gone back to his nap and I sat back down in my seat.

"What was that about?" Kirishima asked me when I sat back down. Since this school year started me and Kiri had sat next to each other and and since then, we just kind of became best friends.

"Hawks wanted to see me." I told him.

"Hawks?" Kiri asked and he got excited. "Pro-Hero Hawks?"

"No his brother." I said sarcastically.

"What'd he want?" Kiri asked me.

"He wants me to do my work study with him." I said.

"That's great!" Kiri said and grabbed my shoulders. "Nothing better than being taught by someone with your own quirk."

"Yeah." I said.

"Are you not excited?" He asked me.

"I don't know, I mean it'd be great." I agreed with him. "But, he's just an asshole."

"No he's not an asshole." Kiri told me. "He just doesn't let the media and all that get to him. He's the realest hero out there."

"But he's still an asshole." I said, and we laughed. The bell rang and I sighed, before walking towards the front of the school.

"Where are you going?" Kiri asked when I started walking the opposite way.

"To meet up with the asshole." I told him.

"There you are kid." Hawks said as I walked down the steps of the school. "You ready?" He asked and fluffed his wings out.

"Yep." I told him and started fluttering mine. Hawks launched off the ground, and I followed suit. After we were high up into the air, Hawks flew up next to me.

"Think you can keep up?" He asked me, and I laughed.

"I should be asking you that." I told him before taking off with out him.

"Damn kid what kind of wings you got there?" Hawks yelled after me and I looked behind me before slowing down so he could catch up.

"You might be built hawk." I told him. "But I'm built more like a humming bird."

"More for speed than power." Hawks said as he circled me checking out my wings. "Interesting."

"So where are we going?" I asked, hovering in the air.

"This way." Hawks told me and lead me to a roof top. He sat down on the ledge of a building. There was already a small lunch set up on the ledge waiting for us. "So kid, what's it going to take to get you to do your work study with me?"

"Why do you want me to do my work study with you, so badly?" I asked him and started eating. "Other than me being a bird."

"Honestly?" He asked me, and I nodded. "I never thought I'd meet someone with my quirk. I always thought I'd be alone in that aspect." I understood where he was coming from.

"When I was younger, kids would always make fun of me because I had wings." I said. "But the moment you became a hero, everyone suddenly wanted to be my friend. They thought it was so cool I was just like you."

"Well I doubt you'll ever be as cool as me." He said, and I looked at him annoyed. He saw, and dropped him smile before clearing his throat. "Continue?"

"I grew up with everyone holding the high expectations for me before they even knew me." I told him. "They thought that because I was just like you." I plucked one of my feathers from my wing, and held it up. "They thought I could fight like you and that I was just as strong as you. And they found out that they were wrong. Even my own parents started comparing me to you."

"Kid." Hawks said.

"I've been raised thinking I have to be just like you." I said, and let my feather go and watched the wind carry it away.

"Well you can't be just like me." He said. "Cause there's only one of me, and there's only one of you. So you got to take everything everyone says about you, and throw it in the garbage. Cause that's all it is really. You make who you get to be, no one else."

"Is that why you're such an asshole?" I asked him.

"I guess yeah." He said and laughed a little. "I am who I am. And I'm not going to let anyone change that." I hummed. "What?"

"Oh nothing." I said. "I guess you're not as bad as I thought you were."

"Well thanks kid." He said and I kicked my feet a little. "Wait you thought I was worse?"
