Chapter 17. Cold Shoulder Backfire🍁

I heard doorbell but was conflicted who will it be, at this hour of time we dont know much people around here, nathan was on call with his uncle, so i went to answer it, seriously my mind was going insane thinking about isabella, where is she, as i was in my thoughts i opened the door, and for the moment i thought my mind is playing games with, isabella was standing infront of me.

But something is not right, she looked pale, eyes droopy and hairs sticking out from all over, whats with her, i heard nathan informing his uncle and hungup the call.

'aaachooooooooooooo,!! hell- O ' and she sneezed and before she say something else she collapse i was quick to capture her in arms and picking her up brought her in placed her on sofa. The moment i picked her up in my arms i understood she is sick, with high fever, and cold. Isabella what have you done this time.

" She is burning man, go get thermometer" i said to nathan and told him where the thermometer is kept he went to fetch it, i placed my hands on her forehead she was burning and dangerously pale. Nathan came back with it and i placed it under her armpit, and we waited it to show the actual temperature, the beep sounded and indeed she was fallen sick.

I picked her up and moved her to my bedroom, placing her gently on the bed i asked nathan call Aunt Mia, so she can tell us what to do, meanwhile i brought a bowl of water and cloth to place it on her forehead, as i placed the cold cloth on her forehead a small whimper passed her lips, and she hold my hand, i squeezed her hand in return try to sooth her. As the call went through we heard Aunt mia voice. Nathan connected his phone to laptop, so she can see her properly.

"Ohh my little lamb" aunt mia said

"How is she?" uncle Adam asked

"Dad Mom she is fine, bit of temperature, and due to which she fainted"

"Ohh my baby, Adam lets go there, i cant seat here"

"Calm down mamma-mia, she will be fine" Uncle danny said everyone was present in the living room.

"Listen you boys do as i say okay, till we reach there, Liam you are doing right thing it will help bringing the temperature down, keep doing it. Nathan can you check whether there are any medicines in the house?" Nathan went in to the bathroom to bring some meds, came out with some painkillers,and some tablets for cold and fever.

"Now tell me uncle whats shall i do?"

"Okay good this will do, go and prepare a decoction, adding these meds to it" Nathan took the laptop along with him to prepare that decoction.

I removed the cloth from her forehead, repeating the cycle again, she looked peacefully sleeping, but still pale and i swear looking at her condition, it pulled to my heart string, so much for cold shoulders, bloody who would have known it will backfire so badly. Whoever seating up there, please bring her back to health, i promise will never do this again never treat her rudely, i will treasure her and will always look after her, and treat her like precious dew drop she is, my dew drop, rarest yet pretiest of all.

"Li.....am i...i....m.sosorrry" she spoke but it was a whisper, like she was sleep talking,i placed my hand on her chicks which were burning.

"Shh shh shh sleep my dew drop" and placed a kiss on her eyes lids lightly, like she heard my voice she went into deep slumber.

Nathan came back after a while, brought some liquid like thing, now this was a task he said we have to make her drink this liquid consist of medicine, but how she is sleeping, but then it has to be done. We both divde the task i gently hold her up in a seating position, and sat in the back holding her in between my arms supporting her drooping body, nathan tried to say some stupid things (for moment he looked like he is talking to 4 years old child), to make her open her lips so he can pass that spoon of liquid through her mouth. But a failure, then he pressed her nose close, thats when she opened her mouth and nathan sucessfully put the spoonful of decoction inside her mouth, she drank it in sleep but coughed a little, we done this for 3 more times, and finally able to make her drink the medicine, then i carefully laid her downback and sleep for a while, its been afternoon by the time the whole Gilbert clan reached, i asked my caretaker to prepare some meal for all us. Uncle danny came and immediately went to check on her aunt mia too is inside the room while we sat out.

After a while later uncle danny came out saying her fever is deflecting, and is good sign, he put her on drip, as she is dehydrated. Hence we wait...
