Dusk spent the entire 7th Day in the Tech Building working on her design for the basic chip. She understood the design and now it was important for her to make her own chip. If she copied the one in the textbook, her professor would definitely fail her.

Mellow found her work fascinating since she herself had never learned hardware design and chose to sit with Dusk and give her company. Fortunately, the university allowed students to work on holidays. In fact, many students came on 7th Day to the computer labs because that was the day a lot of computing time was available, and the processor loads were low. As she worked, they talked of the old days and how things had changed for them and much fun it is to be working at the university with Military.

"So, how long are you going to be working here?" Dusk asked her.

"I am not sure. They signed us for a month, but I think they will extend it. My parents are happy. They believe this is a good opportunity. Back home I do not think I would get a job so easily. I was actually considering moving to Ci'gazze or some place in Zole. They have large malls and retail businesses in Zole who need tech people. And naturally, Ci'gazze is the tech and financial capital of our country. Programmers are in demand at both of these places. And Zole a lovely place to live too. But never in my life, I would have got an opportunity like this out there. I must thank you for starting this project."

"You don't know half of it!" Dusk muttered. Mellow caught the words and gave her a look but did not say anything. As they continued their work, Susco walked into the room and waved to Dusk.

"There you are! You are working on a holiday?"

"Hello, Hello. You are asking me, but you are here in the university yourself! Where have you been all these days? I even messaged you yesterday asking if you wanted to go out with us." Dusk replied.

"Don't ask. I was in Regis again, more than a week this time. I was put through the wringer." On seeing Dusk look concerned, Susco continued, "They made me undertake some training for a special work that I am now doing. It's actually good fun, you know. If this continues, I can actually become a lawyer. Somehow, ever since I tangled with you, my life has been strange."

"Well, somehow I seem to be changing a lot of people's life. You got a new assignment, Mellow got a job, Luke got kicked out, Princess Rosemary got a new business ... But I do not understand this, you know Susco, why am I suddenly in the center of everything? I am just an ordinary girl from a village in the desert. What is happening Susco?" Dusk asked.

Dusk seemed a little worried. But after 10 days in Regis, Susco had began to understand that Dusk would be more in the center of things than she was now. Someone ... someone ... had an eye on her. She still hadn't figure who and why. But now her task to take care of Dusk.

"Dusk, relax. You are lucky, and that helps at times. Your work is outstanding, but it is your luck gave you a project that became extremely popular. You know how many would die to be in your shoes today? But were you the only one who was asked to join that project? There must have been others who were asked but didn't bother. Or some who joined but didn't work that hard or skilfully. You did not really get here by luck but with your hard work. In future, you will achieve more. As you solve more problems, you will be the more in the center of attention. Get used to it..." she said with a reassuring smile.

"And you are suddenly religious and philosophical? There is a god above giving me chances?" Dusk asked with a smile. Susco wanted to say there her god was in Regis but held her tongue.

"Luck is a springboard, Dusk, that is what I was taught years ago. But your work, skills and dedication are the real foundation on which your future is built. Since your work is good and you are dedicated, to the extent of working on your holiday, you would have succeeded eventually. It's just that your luck got you there much faster. Others get recognition in their late 30s. You got it in early 20s. You are therefore 15 years ahead. Leverage that and achieve more." Susco explained.
