Chapter 114 : Julien's Apartment

The RA, with the help of the Militia Officials, cleaned up the bed and took out the 'Evidence'. He promised to look up at the video feeds and see if he can find out any supporting evidence (there were no camera in the rooms). He also promised to report the next day on why the cleaning crew had not cleaned the bed and not found the nails.

Dusk finally managed to convince her security team that she will live, and they can go back home. Now it was just not possible for her to stay in the dorm as the Militia will not consider it safe. She agreed to go to Prince Julien's apartment with the two Princesses. She hoped there was enough place for the three of them.

Scarlet drove the pink hover-car to the PG Dorm building with Dusk, while Catherine insisted on riding the Duo-Pax. She had overcome her fear for Dusk's injury and now wanted to try something new that Scarlet had done which she had missed. Scarlet was extremely annoyed to find her cousin sitting on the Duo-Pax, holding on tightly to Rusk's shoulders but could not find any way to stop her without being exposed.

They followed Rusk's Duo-Pax and parked in the underground parking. Luke's Duo-Pax was also parked there, unused for quite some time. The bike greeted Dusk as she passed it, reminding her that she had not ridden him for some time. Both Catherine and Scarlet grinned at her causing her to blush at the implications.

Rusks offered to come up to the room and help them with the bags, but Dusk refused. She felt they had taken up too much of his time and he was being forced to do more than was his duty. He also had to go home and sleep (she considered that he must be in a dorm somewhere on campus.)

Rusks left after telling them to go to Room number 385. They trudged their luggage to the elevators and then to the first floor. Dusk did not know why Room 385 was on the first floor instead of the third. However, they found the room easily enough.

Dusk put the access key-card against the door and waited for the AI to identify them. She hoped Rusks had informed the AI that they would be sleeping there, or she would have to call him back. The AI unlocked the door and modified its access rules to let the three of them enter whenever they wanted.

They walked into a 1 bed-room apartment, with a small living room cum study. The apartment was slightly bigger than the dorm room that they had seen earlier. The lights lit up, automatically as they entered the room. Some clothes were in the cupboard. The table had various articles that students generally use. Otherwise, it was evident that the room, though unused, was cleaned regularly.

Catherine and Scarlet frowned. How did Julien live in such a small apartment? He was taking the living like a commoner idea too far. Dusk also looked around and got worried. There was only one bed (but large enough to fit two people) and there were three of them, one being a Princess who would definitely refuse to share!

While Scarlet sat down on one of the sofas feeling defeated, Catherine was exploring the room. She checked the bathroom and came out very disappointed. Forget of being like home, it did not even match Continental Pacific! Then she saw another door and decided to see what that contained. It did not open, so she got Scarlet's Access Key-Card to the apartment. The door then opened, and she exclaimed in delight.

The door led to another apartment, similar to the first one. So actually, Julien had a 2-room suite but to a casual visitor it would look like a small one room apartment. This one looked completely unused.

"This was very much Julien's style," Catherine said as she looked around. Scarlet agreed with her. Her cousin loved to create an illusion with minimum fuss which would stand scrutiny. At least it solved their initial problems to some extent. They still needed to find a bed for Dusk. She had heard of people sleeping on a couch, but she was sure Dusk would fall off if she tried any such nonsense.
