Sargent Major Cole was shocked how Catherine had fought. From the time the two cadets lunged at the kid to the time she got a gun pointed at them was a total of 17 seconds. Squid felt very happy to see the kid beat up his two fellow students because it made his defeat at the hands of Dusk Hale look less bad. All the other students backed away from them, giving a larger circle to Catherine.
Piggon and her friends who had partied with Catherine the previous night were completely floored. They just could not think of how that sweet girl, pouting the previous night because she could not get anyone interested in a dance would be a killer on the Training Grounds this morning. If they knew of her skills the previous day, they would be worshiping her because all Military Students appreciated strength and combat skills.
And if they knew she was a Princess, every boy at the party would be looking for a dance with her...
Just as Sargent Major Cole was about to give a command, one of the Lieutenants shouted, "Senior Officer on Field!". Everyone immediately straightened except Dusk who did not know Military Protocol and Catherine who did not care. Technically, she was above whichever officer was coming.
The two cadets on the ground scrambled up, keeping a wary eye on Catherine. They were all surprised to see Major Wilson, the Head of Military Studies in Uni-Viva, and his ADC, accompanied by Brigadier Thomson. Everyone immediately saluted them, and they returned the salute.
Seeing Catherine with a gun pointed at people, Major Wilson's ADC pulled out his gun. Real guns were not allowed in training. As he was bringing the gun up, Catherine turned and fired, very accurately, hitting the gun twice, shattering it and causing it to fall to the ground. The ADC stopped and knelt in surrender as he saw the kid point the gun at his head with a hard and 'Professional Killer' look.
Major Wilson patted his ADC on the back, consoling him at his loss to the child.
"I am not really surprised that these two boys could not pin her down. She has over 5 years of extensive training including personal combat. Good work Princess Catherine. And you also Dusk Hale, your improvement is an endorsement of your trainers in Regis." Brigadier Thompson said. "Wilson, do you see why I say the training is inadequate? If she was not holding back, they would be in hospital."
Major Wilson nodded. He was embarrassed to see his students fail, but worse was the Sargent could not stop a 16-year-old from grabbing his gun and his ADC got his gun smashed out of his hand.
"We should appoint you as a new trainer here at the University, Princes. Are you interested?" Wilson said to add a bit of humour to a tense situation. He knew who she was, and she could not be a trainer.
"Ok, enough of this banter." The Brigadier who knew Catherine would be capable of shouted. "Sargent Staton get your squad to attack both the girls NOW! Sargent Major Cole, be on standby with yours."
The place was in full chaos and confusion as the squad boys and girls looked at each other, figuring how they would all attack the two girls, some having doubts of whether it would be fair. Further, they were not in formation and the leaders had not discussed the attack pattern.
Dusk and Catherine, on the other hand, having been through numerous group attacks over two months, reacted much faster. They identified the potential attackers by their expression and actions and jumped directly into the fray. In the next 30 seconds, they had already floored one third of the squad. The leaders tried to group them for a counterattack, but that only gave the girls a concentrated target and one more group got eliminated.
Since the girls were hitting hard, few of those who had fallen had the courage to get up and re-join the attack. Those that managed to do it were brought back to the ground mercilessly by Catherine.
