Chapter 134 : Susco in Regis

Susco was having a long day in Regis. She had gone over the previous night and was therefore not aware of the drama that took place in Ci'gazze. She spent a peaceful night at Lord Sunjune's Palace and had breakfast with Lady Crystala who was happy to see her. She was already missing the lively life of the children. And she was lonely, so having Susco over made her day.

"Where are you going today?" she asked.

"I have to meet the Imperial Auditor General at 9:30 today. I drove Dusk's car back from the Airport. So, I can take that without having to call for transport... Then I have some other bits of work and I will return to Ci'gazze. My Chief Accountant is here. He will meet me directly at the Secretariate."

"Do one thing, stay back one day more and return tomorrow. And take Dusk's EPAC back with you. She may need it and then it will be a problem." Crystala said gently. "I will take you to the Festival Ball at Lord Parsnor's place this evening. I don't want to go alone and Sunjune has gone off to Ci'gazze with Crator. I can arrange for your colleague to stay back here too if you wish."

Being an Officer of Court, as well as a Guardian of Princess Catherine, she had no problem getting into the Secretariate. Security was tighter than usual that day, and other visitors, including some Nobles waiting for security clearance looked on in envy as she got off the Pink car and simply walked into the foyer as if she was a member of the Royalty herself. Her Chief Accountant, Victor, who was waiting in the foyer joined her.

Imperial Auditor General introduced her to a middle-aged man, a partner from the Accounting Firm, Onhaire Associates.

"What can I do for you, Ms. Susco? I was pretty sure you would not come to Regis today. After all, the Crown Prince has gone to Ci'gazze with half the Cabinet! And I am surprised he did not need you there. Even the Assistant Advocate General has flown there for your meeting." The Auditor General commented.

Susco was surprised. She did not know of the visit, or the agenda. She wondered why the man thought she was needed in Ci'gazze. She decided not to waste time of the senior officer and proceeded with her requirement.

"You see, Sir, Dusk Hale Holdings LLC owns a substantial part of the common stock of Cartier Fruit Masters Inc. You must have seen that in the news. We did not intend to publicise it, but it took a life of its own. We are the owners of the business, but we have not taken it over. I think Dusk acquired it as a good investment.

"Yesterday, the President of Banko-Corp Romana met us at the office and informed us that some senior managers and directors are stealing money from the company since there is no owners to oversee it. Princess Rosemary feels that his contention is right and the failure to stop it will cause harm to the company and reflect badly on Dusk Hale."

The Auditor General smiled. "Yes, that is true. People bought shares because of her, even though she never asked anyone to invest or offer any shares. It is a perception that cannot be changed. You should immediately dismiss the board and replace it. Even my children bought shares after the Rural Student's Association incident."

"But Sir, the issue is, if we follow the procedure, it will take time. We will need to call for a shareholders meeting to be able to remove the existing board. Even that, the company will delay by not accepting our meeting request. Meanwhile, every day of delay is costing us in terms of losses the company is incurring." Victor explained.

"And besides we are very busy with things. Dusk is investing $170 million in new factories in Arcadia and yesterday we approved $30 million for expansion of one factory in Regis. Therefore, Princess Rosemary said we need help." Susco added.

"Yes, the Crown Prince asked me to provide assistance. If they have been stealing from the company, they will not allow you to just take over like this. But the more you delay, more is the problem. So, you may as well start. I have asked Onhaire Associates to assist you.
