"That is back in the room..." She did not think it through and therefore had not brought the clothes with her when she came searching for Dusk.
They returned to the room and Dusk looked at the dress that felt it was easy enough to put on. She asked Catherine to put up on the night dress top. She did and promptly got stuck inside the dress. Her hands were stuck in an upwards stance, the dress stuck on her head and she couldn't move. Previous time when she got stuck, she struggled a little till she managed to pull it off from her hands outwards again. But this time, she just wriggled her palm and waited for Dusk to help her out.
Dusk saw her and broke into a laugh. The problem was so simple, it was shocking that Catherine did not know. It's something every kid learned at the age of 3-4... That before you put on a top, you should unbutton it! She had not done that, and just pulled it down her body and her head got stuck in the 'neck'
"Elder Sister! Umm... Dusk! This is not fair. Help me out! You are not supposed to laugh.
Dusk helped her take the dress off. Then she put it on the bed and showed her where the buttons were and how it needs to be taken off to make the neck wider so that it slides in easily. Catherine went pink as she realized that it was the most basic thing that she should have known. She had never been taught to be independent.
As the two of them sat on the bed, laughing together heartily, someone walked into the room saying, "Hey! Let me on to the joke..."
Catherine was most scantily clothed. She had taken off the towel to wear the dress, which was now lying on the bed. She was only in a bra and panty. Dusk was wearing just a bathrobe, which had also fallen off partly when she was helping Catherine. Both of them looked at the man who had walked in, eyes wide in horror.
Luke Jones stood at the door of the room, looking surprised at the scene in front of him.
Dusk hastily pulled the bathrobe up around her body, glaring at him, while Catherine shirked and jumped to hide behind Dusk who was sitting on the bed. She put her face behind Dusk and refused to look up.
"Luke! What the hell are you doing?"
"Hey! Not my fault, the room door was open and you both were laughing. How am a supposed to know you are up to something like this?" He protested.
Dusk pulled out of the pillows and threw it at him and threw a bolster when he ducked to avoid the first one.
"Get out first and close the door!!"
He scuttled out and closed the door, standing against the closed door to calm himself. He had not intended to see what he did... It was a genuine mistake.
Catherine and Dusk quickly dressed and came out. Dusk was boiling mad at Luke as she felt like throttling him for coming into her room without warning.
"Why didn't you close the door?" Luke asked.
"What do you mean? Only 2 of us are here. How did you get in?"
"Did you people lock the main door of the suite?"
Dusk and Catherine looked at each other. They had not 'Locked' the door. Both knew that option must be there. Dusk glared and said, "There are Imperial Guards outside. They are not supposed to allow you to come in."
Catherine giggled thinking of the concept of Imperial Guards trying to stop her brother, of all people, from entering her suite... She then ran to her brother and hugged him, "Oh Ju .... Luke."
Dusk threw up her hands on seeing her 'Younger Sister' going and siding with the 'enemy'. She lost the momentum to attack Luke over his 'indecent act'. Finally, they sat down in the living room, next to the window providing a view of the night cityscape of Regis. The Butler came and put 3 glasses, 2 drinks for Luke and Dusk and a strawberry milkshake for Catherine. He also brought cheese and chicken sandwiches, crackers and cold cuts.
