The next morning, Dusk's alarm rang at 6 am, but got switched off before she could react. She smiled and drifted back to sleep. She had gone to sleep late the previous night, then woke up in the middle of the night... She had fought with an intruder...
As her mind was drifting in and out of sleep, she remembered that the intruder was Luke... And then they didn't go to sleep... at least not for quite some time.
She forced herself to wake and started to get up. But a strong arm draped over her body forced her back to bed. Another arm cradled her and pulled her into an embrace. She struggled for a few seconds and then accepting defeat, snuggled into the arms.
"I have to get up or I will get late for training." Dusk told Luke.
"Don't worry, I will let them know you are not coming." Luke said as he reached over for his own communicator and sent a message to the Marshall informing him that Dusk is not going to the training because Catherine was unwell the previous evening. He knew that the Marshall would not protest after his message.
Dusk happily went back to sleep, wondering for a moment if she should sleep or try to initiate something naughty.
A few minutes later (or so it seemed to her), Dusk surfaced from her deep slumber as she heard a shriek from the next door... Half a minute later, the door of the room opened, and Catherine rushed in. Dusk groaned and realised that she had forgotten to lock the door. Or perhaps she had locked it, but Luke had disabled the AI...
"Elder Sister!" Catherine screamed, "We are late! Its past 8! We will be punished for missing practice! How could you forget to wake me up? Oh no, yesterday at the hospital was bad enough, and now this... Come on, Ca..."
The voice trailed off as she took in the scene in front of her. Dusk's head and neck was peeping out of the covers, her entire face red, as she was trying to get her mouth to work. Next to her, Luke was lying in the bed. She did not know about the rest, but he was definitely missing a shirt!
"BROTHER!" Catherine screeched. "You are here? And what are you doing in this bed? Oh, stupid question!"
Catherine's mind was working overtime as her imagination filled in the details. She did not know whether she should be angry or happy. She knew that Dusk was resisting Luke for some time, and he had not been successful. Now, it looked like the previous night she had surrendered. Which meant, Dusk was to be her sister-in-law soon. After this, there was no way she would be able to escape. All she had to do now was to send a pic to Grandfather!
"Go back to bed, I have cancelled your training today." Luke told her wearily.
Catherine was trying to decide how she should react... Whether she should pretend to be outraged, or treat it as normal, whether she should try and get something from them to keep quiet and not tell Aunt Crystala about it...
Meanwhile, Dawn had been thrown into full confusion when she heard Catherine shriek. It took her a few seconds to orient herself, to remember where she was and what was she doing in a strange bed and who was next to her.
Slowly, she remembered it was Princess Catherine! The most popular girl on Pictorial Bravadia (among the top in the world, perhaps) who kept insisting that they friends. She was in the Princess's bed, in Dusk's apartment in the university.
She wondered why the girl had just shouted, jumped and vanished out of the room. Then the Princess continued shouting in the next room and finally there was a silence. Dawn wondered if she had fallen or fainted or something. The Princesses were delicate and probably needed to be taken care of all the time. Surprisingly, both maids left with the other Princess.
