Gregner stopped his wife immediately, "Now, my darling, it's not our business. And as we have already agreed, we do not interfere on who his girlfriends are. Compared to what we have done in our youth, our son is a saint."

Shanit backed down but Catherine was not to be dissuaded. "Tell me about her! Tell me about her! What is her name? What shoes does she wear? Can she take me shopping?"

Shanit looked at her in annoyance. "Catherine, why will it matter what shoes she wears? And why will she take you shopping?"

Catherine shut up and sat in her chair, pouting. At 16, she was most interested the fun activities, but she had no one to go with. Shanit did not allow her to go out with her school friends, Louis was of no use and lately Rosemary, her only hope, had been busy. A ray of hope had blossomed in her heart that Julien's girlfriend would definitely try to be nice to her.

Shanit looked at Julien, "So ok, who is she?"

"She is studying Tech at Uni-Viva. Fresher."

"Where is she from? Is she from Regis?"

"No, she is from a small village in Arcadia. Got full scholarship to study at Uni-Viva."

Catherine almost jumped up, "She is the one whom Royal Chaser channel was showing at the party day before! Wow, she is pretty."

Julien blushed. Shanit Lidwig, as a mother, she caught his bashfulness and his hesitation. She gave her elder son an unhappy look. She wanted him to marry one of the Debutante from the Noble Families of Regis, not some unknown commoner.

"So... Is there something we should know, son?"

He hesitated for a few seconds and then said, "I ... Well, she has no idea who I am. Not a clue. Thinks I am a commoner... And I intend to let it remain that way."

Gregner dropped his fork laughing. Julien had many times explained his antipathy towards the girls who were after him for his money, status and title.

"She is an idealistic girl, absolutely brilliant in her studies. Developed a software that has already changed the way Agro-Edu is taught. All this before she reached the university even. She also believes that the Noble Families are a bunch of disliked rotten, spoiled people whose only work in life is to waste money. BUT she has respect for the Emperor and what he has achieved, including sending her to the University." Luke continued.

"When will we meet her?" Catherine asked eagerly.

"Not for a long time, my dear sister. I do not have any intention to get her here."

"Can I come over to the university then? Rosemary told me she will be there too for some time. If she can stay with you, why can't I? She said you have a large apartment."

Julien did not say anything. He took a buttered roll from the breadbasket and focused on getting the best of it.

"What if I call her?" Catherine continued.

"Don't you dare!" He growled at her. Seeing her rebellious and defiant expression, he said, "If you do, I will not get any more gifts for you and I definitely will not take you shopping or on any outing for the next 5 years."

Catherine was crest fallen but soon brightened up. "So, Since I have not called her, you will take me shopping today? And to Mount Quaker? I haven't been out of Regis for ages!"

He nodded and Catherine had one more question, "Umm... It does not count as my fault if Rosemary invites me over to spend some time with her at Ci'gazze, right?"

Luke gave her a very cold smile, "Don't try to be over-smart. If I feel you did something, I cut you off..."
