Chapter 145 : Dawn's Adventure

Dusk, Dawn and Catherine left for Ci'gazze using Dusk's EPAC. Dawn remembered her experience of her first trip, which was from Ci'gazze to Regis. It was a messed-up trip that she had not informed Dusk about, because she felt she would get a scolding. Surprisingly, neither had Imperial Security, so all seemed good.

Dusk had gone to Cocospire to meet with the head of Rojes Family Trust with Catherine and Scarlet. She had not taken Dawn with her because she did not want it to become a habit for her sister to trail her and Catherine all the time. At the same time, she could not leave Dawn alone for 2 or 3 nights at Uni-Viva. She asked Arora to send her to Regis on a commercial flight in the evening.

Arora coordinated with Imperial Security to ensure that she was properly escorted to the airport. Julien, on knowing Dawn Hale was going to stay with Dusk and Catherine on long term basis, had already moved her to Category X protectee status under Imperial Security. She had far lesser security as compared to Dusk but would be protected from all threats.

Susco had given a bank card to Dawn with $5,000. Susco knew that in the company Dawn kept, she would hardly ever need money, but it was good to let her have some for emergencies. Dusk put in $1,000 into her card every week as her allowance. It was far more than Dusk herself ever got.

Arora did not get Dawn a ticket but asked her to buy one at the Airport. There were many flights between Ci'gazze and Regis and she would surely get a seat on one of them. Dusk Hale had been very clear that no one was to pamper or spoon-feed her sister and she must learn to do things on her own. In order to pay for the flight tickets, Arora transferred $2,000 to Dawn's Bank Card out of the personal spending money that Dusk had given her.

That would allow Dawn to pay for her ticket to Regis and back, along with food or any other thing she may want on the trip. She asked Dawn to keep track of her expenses on the expense tracker software in her communicator and on returning to Ci'gazze she must account for the same and return the balance to Arora.

Dawn reached Ci'gazze airport at 6:30 pm. The Imperial Security Officer walked into the airport with her and showed her where the airline ticketing counters were. There were 10 airlines to choose, but Dawn did not have any idea which was better. Her social media links didn't help either, so she chose the one with the most colourful logo.

She and purchased her ticket on Eastario Regis Airlines for the flight leaving at 7:30 pm. The flights before that were already full. It cost her $350 for the 2-hour flight. She had no idea what flight prices were, but the Maglev all the way from Longburn had cost her less. Shrugging her shoulders, she decided it was Dusk's fault if she had to spend so much. She started searching for a fast-food outlet to buy a burger to have as she was already feeling hungry, but there were none there.

The Airport Manager, meanwhile, found that Imperial Security was escorting someone through his terminal and went to check if the person needed anything. She saw the name of the passenger and cross-checked. She found it was the kid sister of Dusk Hale, who had caused a havoc on her only visit to the terminal resulting in the Day Manager almost losing his job.

She was surprised that Dawn was travelling by commercial flight instead of EPAC, but she knew the planes were expensive and even Dusk Hale would not be keeping a spare EPAC for her sister to use. To avoid a problem, she personally took Dawn to the lounge to ensure she was comfortable. However, when Dawn tried to get into the lounge the AI stopped her informing her that she was not allowed in there.

Dawn shrugged her shoulders and turned to go to the normal sitting area, like she would do at the Maglev station. But the manager stopped her and checked her ticket. When she saw Dawn had been given the lowest priced ticket for the flight, she was livid. She saw the girl was a teenager, definitely underaged. She felt the ticketing office should have ensured that she got the proper ticket.
