After her parents are stuck in Maine from a plane accident, 16-year old Sophie Martin is all alone and stuck in the streets of New York City. Being a Canadian native (Quebec, to be precise), she has little to no knowledge about US/New York culture.

By the time we all finish lunch, it's about 1:30 PM. We all part our separate ways, and Jules has the idea to take me to Gramercy Park. I learn that it is a private park, and you can only get in if you have a key. Only certain people are able to get a key, and that was if you own any one of the 39 lots surrounding the park. This isn't the case for Jules, but somehow he managed to make deep connections and friendships with some of the people involved in managing that park. So, they are always willing to let him (and whoever he had with him) inside the park.
I swear that he is treated like a king in these streets...
We go inside the park and I gasp in amazement. Everything is absolutely beautiful. The bushes are lined up in a perfect row and all cut to the same size. The giant and tall trees arch over a little bit so it gave plenty of shade. The glorious statues have plant decorations circling them. And overall, I like how the park is kept very cleanly; there is no litter or gum anywhere.

We both sit on a bench and I rest my head on Julian's shoulder.
Both of our hands are intertwined with one another; I softly chuckle as a thought suddenly pops into my head.
"What is it?" he asks, turning to me.
"Just the thought of how you are able to get so many connections with people. It's like you know everyone here, everyone knows you, and they respect you like a king."
