Chapter 25

Nang nakabalik kami ng Manila, balik din kami sa busy naming buhay. Pero kahit busy kami pareho sa trabaho, ay may oras pa din kami sa isa't isa. At least he makes an effort for us to still communicate with each other despite our hectic schedule.

Our company is swamped because politicians are campaigning for election. They are requesting for armed and unarmed guards for thier security during campaign. Bali- balita din na nagkaka initan ang dalawang kontra partido. Kaya madami kaming inaasikaso for them.

I volunteered to help papa with his work. Hindi magandang ma stress siya dahil sa trabaho, lalo na't may edad na siya.

"Pa, I think you should rest a bit. Ako na muna bahala dito. You've been working non stop for days now. Baka ma pa'no ka. Don't worry I'll take care of everything." sabi ko nang napansin kong masyado nang spaced out si papa.

He sighed. "Maybe you're right anak. Thank you dahil nandito ka." he said.

"No problem pa, anything for you." I smiled.

Pinatawag ko ang driver namin para maihatid si papa sa bahay.

Now that papa's home. I attended some meetings and took care of some transtactions with regards of the firearms that some of the hired guards will need. I also managed the financial team since I'm still their manager.

I was in the middle of a meeting when I recieved a text.

It's from Marcus. Why is he texting me?

Marcus:

[We need to talk.]

I ignored his text since I am too busy and occupied to entertain him. I can't handle him right now. I need to focus on work.

After I attended some meeting, I texted Jaycee.

Me:

[Are you busy?]

Jaycee:

[No. Why?]

Me:

[Can you drive me somewhere?]

Jaycee:

[Sure I'll be there.]

Magpapasama ako kay Jaycee to a company to take care of a problem with regards of the firearms we ordered.

Jaycee arrived dala ang kanyang black BMW.

I sat in the shot gun seat. He smiled when I got in.

"You okay? You look tired."

"A bit. But it's okay." I smiled at him.

"Where shall I drive you, young lady?" he dramatically said. I laughed. Kahit papaano nawawala ang pagod ko dahil sa kanya.

"MFC building please." I smiled sweetly.

Nagmaneho na siya papunta sa building.

Nag kamustahan lang kami sa buong byahe. Konti lang ang kasong hinahawakan niya ngayon kaya nagawa niya akong samahan. May driver naman na pwede akong ihatid sa building na 'yon, pero ginawa ko na tong excuse para makita si Jaycee. Hindi na kasi kami masyadong nagkakasama kasi I was too busy sa kompanya. Pero iniintindi niya naman ako.

Dumating na kami sa MFC.

"Do you want to come or you'll wait here?" I said.

"I'll go with you. Baka maagaw ka sa akin. And I want to see you work." he said. I just chuckled.

Sumakay kami sa elevator papunta sa firearm department. Lumapit ako sa front desk ng department na iyon.

"Is Mr. Monzanto around? I want to talk to him about the firearms we ordered?" I said. Jaycee is just beside me silently listening.

"Okay ma'am." umupo kami sa waiting area.

"Wala na bang ibang empleyado na pwedeng umasikaso nito?" he said.

"They are too busy. And I volunteered para makausap ko siya personally." I said.

Lumpias ang ilang minuto at pinapasok na kami sa opisina ni Mr. Monzanto.

Si Mr. Monzanto ay ang CEO ng MFC. Ang kanyang ama na si Mr. Emman Monzanto, isa sa aming kliyenteng politico.

"Mrs. Villejo, it's nice to see you here." he said. Tumayo siya sa sa kanyang swivel chair at pinaupo kami sa mga upuan sa loob ng kanyang opisina.

"You too, Mr. Monzanto. I'd like you to meet my husband. This is Jaycee Villejo. Jaycee, this is Mr. Monzanto." I said.

Naglahad ng kamay si Mr. Monzanto kay Jaycee. "Drop the formalities Leona. Hi Mr. Villejo. Just call me Mathew."

"Nice to meet you." Jaycee said.

"I'm here to settle our order. We have taken care of your father's needs for his security, yet there was a problem with our order for our other client. " I said.

"Oh. I'm sorry about that. We actually have a lot of orders to take care of. I guess my employee got confused." he chuckled.

"Oh it's okay. Mistakes happen all the time. I just came here to settle it personally." I said.

Tumayo siya at lumapit sa kanyang table at nagsalita siya sa kanyang telephone.

Ilang minuto ang lumipas ay may babaeng pumasok sa loob na may dalang kape. I looked at her to thank her, but I was shocked with who I saw.

Siya yung babaeng nabuntis ni Marcus. Ngayon ko lang napagtanto na hindi ko alam ang pangalan niya.

"Uh, thanks." I said.

Nagulat din siya nang nakita niya ako. Wala na naman akong galit sa kanya or whatsoever. I'm just curious about her relationship with Marcus.
