❶❼ Reunion

I sighed as I gave up after a while of struggling in Reno's grasp, I let my body dangle limp over his shoulder my vision still growing more static the further he carried me. I heard Reno sigh in relief as they finally reached the floor of the presidents office but he suddenly stopped grabbing his partners arm stopping him from walking any further

"Isn't Y/N being hunted down by all of Shinra? How are we going to get her past the literal President?!"

Rude looked at the red head and he smirked slightly pushing his shades up "We've already got it covered"

"Huh?" Reno raised an eyebrow as he watched Rude walked ahead eventually making his way back to his side

The two made their way up the flights of stairs towards the Presidents office with me still dangled over Reno's shoulder sighing heavily, my vision was still static and my hands started to shake slightly as the lights above us flickered. I slowly closed my eyes and took a deep breath, my arms tingled and I focused on the
image of the lights above me in my head making them turn off

"Yo! What the fuck?" Reno cursed as all the lights above them shut off

I opened my eyes and looked up at the lights gasping slightly as I noticed they had turned off, I looked down at my hands and clenched them the lights flickering back on

I slowly unclenched my fists placing my hands on the back of Reno's blazer slowly feeling the fabric under my soft hands, I felt Reno stiffen up slightly as I did this looking at me in the corner of his eye

He eventually put my down as we got to the entrance of the presidents office, I took a deep breath as so did the red head. He put more pressure on one of his feet grabbing my hand which made me blush but I held his hand back just as tight

"Both of you keep your head down... I'll do the talking" Rude said walking ahead of us

Reno nodded and he slowly followed behind Rude keeping me close to his hip

We all walked into the presidents office freezing in place as his chair was turned to face the windows behind his desk, Reno pulled me behind him and Rude stood close to Reno glancing over at the escape

"Don't worry" A deep voice came from the chair and the chair soon turned around to reveal Rufus sat in it

Reno growled and he stepped back slightly keeping me behind him

"I'm no threat" Rufus sighed "go ahead... Tseng is waiting"

Rude nodded and he looked at Reno motioning for his partner to go, Reno nodded slightly and he started to walk towards the entrance of the roof with me

"Oh wait..... one thing" Rufus stood up

Reno turned to face Rufus and he growled "What?"

"Y/N-" Rufus started which got my attention moving away from Reno slightly "A Turk will check on you everyday from now" he finished softly

I raised an eyebrow "why?"

Rufus looked at Reno as If asking him to tell me instead

I looked up at Reno and he scratched the back of his head "Uh...... Hojo.... he's basically boasting to the whole of Shinra about your so called powers"

My eyes widened and I sighed the lights flickering slightly "Asshole" I mumbled

"It's for your own protection.... you may choose which Turk becomes your guard" Rufus said softly placing his hand behind his back

"I.... uh..... I....I choose Reno" I said softly looking up at Reno

Reno gave me a small smile and he looked at Rufus "I'll take on the job" he nodded
