Blinking awake Evaline could hear them moving around the kitchen again. She had no idea what time it was but she knew it had been pretty early morning when she'd eventually drifted off to sleep.
Facing the back of the couch she kept the blanket up around her face and didn't move hoping the boys would leave without bothering her.
"You think I should wake her?" she heard Chase ask. "No, I got up around 3:30 to get some water and she was still awake. She probably just got to sleep a few hours ago," she heard Rudy answer.
"I'll just leave her a note and then we can go," Chase told his friend. Listening she heard them moving around the apartment and sighed in relief when she heard the door shut. Taking an unsteady breath Evaline curled further up into a ball as she felt the warm tears start to fall.
"Fuck," she yelped when a hand appeared over her shoulder with a tissue. Shoving the hand away she sat up quickly sliding to the end of the couch away from him, "I thought you left?" she gritted out.
"On my way. Had to grab the script for today," Rudy told her, holding up a packet of papers. Eyeing him she simply stared at him. "So listen Chase left you a note with his number on it," he told her, moving to the kitchen counter, "I'm gonna add my number and the set mom's number. Sometimes we get into a scene and we don't always have our phones on us so she'd be the best option to get a hold of us," he explained, "If you need something today just call or text," he told her as he brought the paper back over to her.
"I won't need anything," she replied, looking at the paper he held out. "Well if you do," he responded, as he set it on the couch next to her when she didn't take it from him.
Chewing on the inside of her cheek Evaline watched as he walked towards the door still talking to her, "If you want to read those tragedies they're on my nightstand, and if you want to be more comfortable you can lay down in there too," he told her before waving as he pulled the door shut.
Confused she shook her head before laying down again, 'Is he for real? No one's that nice,' she thought before pulling the blanket over her head.
It was several hours later when she finally woke up for good. Sitting up she debated on what to do. Spotting her laptop on the side table she cursed. She still didn't know their password. Sighing she picked the paper with the phone numbers on it off the floor where it must've fallen when she'd been asleep.
Reluctantly she added the numbers into her contacts before debating on who to text for the password. Deciding Chase would probably just argue with her she pulled up Rudy's number.
Evaline🎨: Hey, it's Evaline. Can I have the wifi password?
Setting her phone down she folded the blanket and set it on top of the pillow moving them to the recliner to be out of the way. Grabbing her suitcase she unzipped it to pull out clean clothes and her soap and shampoo. Hearing her phone buzz she picked it up on the way to find the bathroom.
Rudy🎬: The user is Pankow and the password is Outerbanks. There's left over pizza in the fridge
Evaline🎨: Not hungry
Debating with herself she rolled her eyes as she typed another text.
Evaline🎨: Thanks though
Rudy🎬: Wow! A thank you! Must be my lucky day. 😏
Rolling her eyes Evaline bit her lip as she felt herself smiling at the weirdo.
Evaline🎨: Must be. 😒
Rudy🎬: We should be back by 4. You okay if a few people came by for dinner?
Staring at her phone Evaline felt her eyes fill with tears. Why was this stranger the only one who seemed concerned about whether she was okay. Blinking she responded.
