"Oh that was so much fun," Evaline gushed as she climbed into the car with Rudy. "You did really well. I saw some of the shots you got; they were awesome," he complimented.
"Thanks," she said, before reaching over and cranking the air conditioner, "I'm sweating like a pig, though," she confessed, yanking her cardigan off.
Glancing at the long sleeve shirt she had on under her cardigan Rudy laughed, "Yeah you're gonna wanna start wearing shorts and tank tops. The heat down here is no joke and it's only the beginning of May," he commented.
Noticing her begin to fidget with her hands he looked at her concerned, "What's the matter?" he asked her.
Chewing on the inside of her cheek Evaline shrugged, "I only brought pants and long sleeves. I don't want people seeing me," she admitted.
"Alright I'm taking a page from Madison here and we're going to Walmart and you're going to reclaim your life one tank top and shorts at a time," Rudy declared, causing Evaline to giggle.
"Well it's going to have to be one each. I don't have much cash left. I'm going to have to find the nearest Citizen's to pull money from my account and get a debit card for this area," she told him.
"We can do that tomorrow," he told her as he turned into the Walmart parking lot, "Till then I can spot you some cash." Parking the car Evaline drummed her fingers on the console as she watched all the people walking in and out. "What's up?" he asked, completely in tune to the girl's nervous habits.
"There's just a lot of people. I don't like the crowds anymore," she told him. "Well, I'll hold your hand so you don't get lost," he told her, smiling.
Rolling her eyes she laughed, "You know I should be pissed off that I'm pregnant, and, like, I am, but I feel like I'm more angry because all of a sudden I'm this fucking pussy that can't handle a crowd now," she told him.
"Well, we can work on that," he told her, "Everyday we'll go somewhere and walk through the crowds till you get comfortable again," he proposed. "You're awfully nice, you know that?" she told him, smiling.
"It's all part of my Alaskan charm," he replied, winking, "Come on, Princess. Your Prince Charming's here to lead you through the crowd," he joked, getting out of the car.
Walking towards the store Evaline slipped her hand into his, "By the way I think I see myself more as a kook then a pogue," she joked. Laughing Rudy looked down at her, "If you were a kook I wouldn't have to spot you money at Walmart, you're definitely a pogue," he replied.
After an hour in Walmart trying on clothes Evaline had a few tank tops, shorts, and t-shirts that she felt fairly comfortable in. Rudy had even talked her into a bathing suit since the apartment complex had a pool and the group had discussed going to the beach a few times.
