"What in the world do you have there?" Rudy asked coming in the bedroom to find Evaline snuggled in bed with a large pillow.
"Jen bought it for me today. I was telling her how difficult it's becoming to snuggle with you because of Baby Bean so she said I needed a body pillow," Evaline answered, "How was your night?" she asked as he stripped down, throwing his dirty clothes in the hamper.
"Exhausting," he answered, "I'm gonna grab a shower. I smell gross," he told her, grabbing a pair of boxers out of the top drawer of the dresser. "I'll be right here waiting," she told him, blowing him a kiss as he left the bedroom.
Sighing Evaline curled up with her pillow waiting for him to return.
The last few days had been a whirlwind of activity. After Rudy's family left on Saturday he'd begun to clear out his room and move his things in with hers. She had to admit it was nice seeing his clothes hanging in the closet with hers.
Over the last four days they'd hardly seen each other though. He'd begun the prep work with Alyssa to begin filming the short movie he'd agreed to act in. While Evaline had been spending any free time she had with her step-mother who had stayed the week visiting both her and Chase.
Evaline had just begun to doze off when she felt the bed dip and an arm snake around her. Smiling as he rubbed the baby she rolled over and snuggled into his chest, "I still prefer you over the pillow," she muttered.
"Well I'm glad I haven't been fully replaced by a pillow," he teased, "How was dinner with Chase and Jen?" he asked.
"It was good. The lady at the store we went to thought Chase and I were together so that was like creepy as shit," she told him as he laughed. "Oh, I wish I could've seen both of your faces," he gasped out still laughing.
"It's not funny. It was traumatizing," Evaline responded, smacking him lightly in the chest, "Anyway how's it going with Alyssa?" she asked.
"It's going. We've got most of the scheduling worked out around filming OBX and your doctor appointments and stuff. We should be set to start filming on Saturday. A large chunk of filming will happen on the weekends," he told her.
"Chase and I are taking Jen to the airport on Saturday," Evaline mentioned. "Are you sad to see her go?" he asked. "Yeah I mean she's only been here a week. I've got 12 years of being a bitch to make up for so a week isn't nearly enough," she replied.
"I think she's just glad you guys are beginning a relationship now. Has she mentioned anything else about your dad?" he asked as he placed his hand on her stomach again. He loved feeling the baby move under his hand and a lot of times she was usually active this time of night.
"Nothing new since she told me he was sorry for what he said to me, but he's being stubborn about it," she answered, "She said she sent him the video she made of my speech at the college, but she's not sure if he actually watched it."
"Well it'll be his loss if he misses out on his own grandchild," Rudy stated, kissing her forehead. "I know. I just can't imagine her ever doing anything so bad that I refuse to talk to her," Evaline said, placing her hand on top of his on her stomach.
"That's because you're going to be the best mama ever," he told her.
"I'm gonna try," she said, yawning. "Let's get some sleep, Pretty Girl, we have another late one tomorrow," he reminded her.
"Are you nervous about it?" she questioned, "I mean when I read just the script it's a lot of emotion for your character."
"A little. Sometimes it's hard to get into that head space so once I get into it I think it'll be good," he told her. "I think you're going to kill it," she said, "You have this way of bringing how JJ feels to screen where everyone that's watching feels it too."
