The girls had climbed into Maddie's bed and Evaline told them how she'd ended up in South Carolina as she cried until she had no more tears to give. "My father's going to disown me," she whispered.
"There's options," Madison reminded her. Nodding Evaline agreed, "I don't know if I can live with an abortion," she told them. "No one would blame you, if you did. Once they knew they'd understand," Maddie told her quietly.
"I don't want people to know though," Evaline cried. "Evaline, we know this is hard, but you're going to have to tell at least Chase for now. I have a doctor here I can call and get you in for an appointment," Maddie told her.
"I can't tell Chase. He'll never believe me," she told the girls quietly. "You guys are like oil and vinegar," Madison commented, "Why are you like that?" she questioned.
"I don't know. My father married his mother when I was ten and he was fifteen. I was a total bitch from the start. I was so angry at everyone because up until they married I always thought my parents would get back together, you know. Then my mom got really bad and I just took it all out on him," she told the girls.
"He's been texting me all morning asking when he can come up here. I think you should talk to him," Maddie told her, glancing at her phone as it buzzed again.
Knowing she really had no option but to talk to her step brother Evaline sighed as she nodded, "Fine," she relented. "I'll tell him to come up and I'm going to make you an appointment at the gynecologist that I found while I'm here," Maddie told her, as she slid off the bed already on her phone.
"She's a doer," Madison laughed as they watched the girl tap furiously on her phone as she walked out of the room. "Yeah," Evaline agreed, "I'm sorry for being rude and bitchy to you guys."
"It's okay. We knew something was going on with you and decided we could wait you out," she revealed. Laughing slightly, Evaline squeezed her hand, "Thank you."
"You know I'm adopted," Madison whispered, "I don't know much about my real parents but my adoptive parents are literally the best people on this earth. Just in case you wanted another option."
Hearing a knocking on the door jamb the girls looked over to find Chase standing at the door. "Hey, I'll just leave you two alone," Madison said, kissing Evaline's cheek she made her way out of the bedroom as Evaline sat up against the headboard.
"So I was right?" he questioned, sitting on the edge of the bed, sucking in a breath when she nodded, "How could you let this happen?" he asked, harshly.
"I didn't let anything happen," she huffed out, getting angry, "Can you just, like, stop acting like everything's my fault. You're just like my fucking father."
"Well who's the father? I'll be sure to put some blame on him too," Chase retorted.
She'd thought all her tears were gone, but at his question they started falling again as her breathing picked up, "I.....don't," she tried to get out as the pressure on her chest got worse. Through her harsh breathing she heard him laughing.
"Oh that's rich," he laughed, standing from the bed, "You don't know who the father is," he stated, shaking his head in disgust at her.
Getting angry Evaline told him to shut the fuck up, "You don't know what you're talking about," she told him, angrily. "Oh, I don't? Then tell me who it is," he demanded.
"I can't," she hissed, "I can't fucking tell you because I don't remember it." Scoffing Chase shook his head, "You got so fucking drunk you don't remember who you slept with?" he asked, incredulously.
