Today I learned
That fragmented stars course throughout our blood
As adrenaline floods, particles of stardust join it
Creating celestial showers inside us
Wrinkling in our eyes as phosphenes
.
I think that we were born from the same star.
When I am with you,
The iron stirs inside my chest,
Screams inside my fingers
Gleams inside my eyes
Dances drunkenly inside my stomach.
But everything is completely still
A planet paused in the midst of its orbit.
My mind sings in music so shrill but the most symphonic
And the flaming anxieties in my mind are chilled
When you hold me in your arms,
The stars inside me burst into supernovae
A garden of cosmic lights
Red, gold, green, and blue
Does it happen to you, too?
